Aromatherapy: An A-Z , a comprehensive guide to the therapeutic use of essential oils and herbal remedies by Patricia Davis is an amazing book. It is knowledge rich regarding medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific knowledge about herbs and oils. As a veteran Aromatherapist Ms Davis delivers clear and concise information on the implementation of essential oils into a healthy lifestyle. This book is an oldie but goodie!** UPDATE: I found this resource very helpful. I later ordered the ebook so that I could have a copy with me at all times on my computer and cell phone.

Really neat little reference book , organized very well and easy to read, It is small in size, so it is nice for travel of carrying in a tote bag. I would have given it 5 stars but it is a slightly incomplete list of oils , given the fact that some were in the end on a list of oils to avoid. I would prefer that some of those oils still be profiled, just with added safety info and warnings, then I can make the decision whether to use it or not. Overall, a nice little reference guide that I enjoy having in my library. Please vote helpful if you enjoyed my review and found it helpful.

I'm new to aromatherapy, so I'm glad I got this book. It's simple, yet very informative. I'm using it almost everyday. The author even goes into how to blend certain oils for a synergestic effect. I wish there were more recipes in the book. The other thing is that the print can be a little hard to read because of the placement of background pictures, but overall, still a really good book to have.

I really liked this book and have consulted it a lot as I have gone through buying oils and sets. It has been very helpful in guiding me along on the types of oils I would like to choose and has helped me avoid some potentially uncomfortable errors when using certain oils. A very informative guide. I highly recommend someone interest in buying oils get a book whether it is this one or another prior to investing in oils.

This book is more of an encyclopedia type and this should be taken into account, if purchasing. It is a very good book, although some of the information is a bit out-dated. If you are looking for a good source to further your Aromatherapy reading, then I would highly recommend it. This book is true to its title and covers just about everything!

I have about 20 essential oil books and this one is tough to work with.Cons: Paper that is used is yellowish and poor quality. Printing of text is very small and hard to read. The text for the pages goes all the way down the page with very little space on the bottom. It's almost as if they didn't want to use any more paper for the pages than they had to. The format of the book is odd (at least to me). The health problem and remedy run together with the essential oil descriptions. The sections aren't separated. The remedy land oils are in the book alphabetized. Also, my biggest pet peeve is the fact that there is no index. Also, the recipes consist of a few pages in the back of the book.Pros: The text is easy to understand and seems to be detailed.I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone for their main source of information.

Excellent book for those interested in this field of study. It clearly convey's how to use essential oils in every aspect of our lives.

I cannot even call this book basic. Bare minimum useful information, while a lot of unnecessary wording on everything but the essence. Book's major idea that it's better not to use any other than lavender and few other oils, even better - consult with the doctor (for some real Pharma I guess).

Great value for money!This book not only has plants and essential oils but also ailments and even a few old recipes, great to use alongside other aromatherapy books to find some hidden gems. Not for the faint hearted as this is definitely an older version and not the most politically correct BUT as a gen X I found this just as intriguing!
