Kidde 233045 10Y29 RB Smoke Alarms 2 Pack 10 Year Battery Life

Excellent brand (recommended by my electrician) and at a good price! The alarms are very easy to set up and each has a 10 year battery - so it'll be a decade before I have to worry about that annoying ringing going off to warn me the battery needs changing, which is a big plus!!! As a disabled woman of a certain age. these are things that really matter to me, and anything that I can set up myself is really welcome. I understand it will ignore false smoke too, like when I burn the toast (but I haven't actually tested that yet....). Great to get TWO alarms for much the same price as I was happy to pay for just one, and from a well-recommended manufacturer too - this means I can cover upstairs as well. It's a 10 from me!!!!

Good reliable brand, replaced my alkaline battery old unit and one so called amazon 10 year model which failed after 1 year, with not warning.This time I went for a proper branded product.I must say the connection to the mount when on the ceiling is a right pain as very hard to find the locking point, it need the line to be marked with a black dot to help. Still once up, it won’t be removed for 10 years.I date them to remind me of the expiry date, thats how I knew the failed one was a year old.The alarm volume is not so loud, but good enough, these have been used in two bedrooms, so we would hear them without any distress caused by the louder models, which hurt the ears.

Cannot replace batteries, will need to replace full unit. Saying that these are to replace ones we already had and those we must have had for over 10 years, so they do last.

I bought these fire alarms because my old ones started pipping suddenly one day which may have been because the batteries were expired or the units themselves were expired as they were over 10 years old....As my old alarms gave no problems while in use and were made by Kidde, I decided to get some more from the same manufacturer.....Big mistake.. these units have built in lithium batteries rather than PP9's and as such have a limited shelf life, but in use they keep going off randomly.... maybe once a week which requires me to remove and reset them with annoying regularity 😔 I suspect these models are meant for office or factory building use were a fire Marshall would go around and test them regularly, but for home use this isn't the case.....Anyway basically what I'm trying to say because these fire alarms keep going off with "FALSE ALARMS" randomly I think they are total garbage and would not recommend they to other people....
