Bought these as a direct replacement from my existing straps that were wore out. These were perfect. The strap is a bit longer than I wanted so i cut off what I didn't need and used a lighter to melt the fringe. These are heavy duty and I'm confident they will continue to hold properly. If it matters, these are to hold a 27ft Cruisers Yacht cabin cruiser to a double axel trailer.

So I bought these 6 months ago. They never retracted automatically. I assumed with the price point they didn't. So upon looking for new ones they came up and when I reread the description I was shocked to see they were supposed too. It had been way to long to return to amazon so I emailed the company not really expecting anything to happen and understandably so for the length of time. I emailed at 10pm on a Tuesday. When I woke up Wednesday morning at 8am I had received a reply back stating they had 2 new ones on the way. Thursday when I got home they were on my doorstep. The straps were already the perfect size and price and now that they retract automatically they are a 5 star way to keep my lil boat secure to my trailer. Customer service like that is far and few between and for me is worth the 5 star rating along with a great product. I understand defects happen and this company goes above and beyond to fix them so I highly recommend them

When my mower bounces a little on my trailer the straps give and allow it to move. Could be my user error but it’s pretty plug and play so, the ratchet works great and it was easy to install, any flat surface customization if you can drill through.

These are pretty standard for heavy fiberglass boats. They are also the easiest and fastest to use in lieu of forgetting to put them back on after trailering. One just hooks them on and throws down the clamp. Done. I do think it's VERY IMPORTANT to trim off overly excessive extra strapping, rather than binding it. If it comes off in reverse, it go under the trailer tires -- not good. Heat the cut-off end with a lighter to keep the nylon from fraying.

Update (1/14/20) Well, it has been just a little over a year now working with these 10 cargo straps on a daily basis to hold my ladders on the rack, and I already have a couple straps that need replaced due to cuts, but none of them are showing signs of wear from the Sun. The stainless steel housing have all held up great, and even the vynal coated steel hooks are still in good shape. The action of these retractors are also still working swell, but the straps are not made to be replaced, so as always; everything is only as good as it's weakest link and the whole unit has to be replaced. I have used these sort of retractable straps for about a decade now and love them, so these were to be a replacement. I was thrilled to see someone sells a stainless steel version of them, which also was not too expensive. The return spring seems plenty strong, but the lever needs some modification. If this was like most, where the release pulls down to the main handle it then it would leave your other hand free for working the hook, but this flaw will require you to have 3 hands to opperate effectively. With a bit of practice it is usable, but it could be better. The strap in these are pretty thin and not made to be replaceable, which is an issue, since this fragile strap, which is not even 1/4 as strong as a seat belt, will not last more than a year if I'm lucky, so that is a problem. This defeats the whole purpose of having a long lasting stainless steel metal housing like this. The solution is to sell a replacement strap that is easily swapped out, but that will not be an option here, so this has a very serious planned obsolecense issue worked in on purpose, so this is an issue of fraud, yet not much different than most any other manufacturer. Although, I would expect more from a company that is selling a life-time metal housing with no way to replace this fragile strap when it gets worn out or cut up, and can no longer be relied on for holding your cargo, which could cause a serious accident if not multiple fatalities when your cargo goes flying down the road behind you. You will need to be very mindful to check the condition of the strap before each use and be ready to replace the whole unit before it is too late, which rarely happens in the real world.

stainless steel ratchet straps are the best. low profile so when mounted to a wheelchair accessible van, the wheelchair can glide right over them. Unlike the previous product highly marketed from another company.

I first discovered these ratchet straps through a fellow driver at work and knew I had to get some for my wife. She loves them! They make securing the kayaks so much easier for her—she can simply throw the strap over, latch it, and the kayak is locked down effortlessly. From my own experience, these straps have been a lifesaver. I had to compress my air shocks, and the only way to keep them secure was by using these ratchet straps. Their unique push-release feature saved me from a potential disaster; without it, I would have been forced to cut through other inferior straps, jeopardizing my entire setup. Honestly, these ratchet straps are the best on the market, hands down!
