Super easy and fast putting together, allows for water to flow thru the steps
We did a lot of research before settling on these steps for the pool. They are a nice width - almost 30 inches, and depth. Heads up - predrill the holes, and pay attention that all 4 poles have the half/slot facing the same direction, as in all of mine are facing left. If you make them mirror it does not work with the hand rail. This means the set on the left - slot faces the left, the set on the right, slot faces the left. Had I actually read the directions the first time, would have had it completed in 60minutes or less from unboxing to in the pool. We opted to use weights (pea gravel in jugs) rather than fill with sand. We left the holes open and let it fill with water then attached the weights underneath. This was our preference as it makes the ladder easier to put in, reposition if needed and pull out at the end of the season. But the company recommends filling with sand (which causes it to weigh around 100 pounds) before putting into the pool. Great purchase, hoping it lasts for years. Arrived on time and in good condition, despite the torn box.

Nice stairs
Very sturdy, easy to put together , MUST use a rubber mallet. I didn’t fill with sand, I drilled holes and let them fill with water then had to place 2 5lb dumbbells on stairs to hold down. I’m sure they would stay down with the sand but this will be easier to take them out. Well worth the money

Happy So Far!
I ordered and received this a couple of months ago, but finally finished installing it yesterday....had an emergency appendectomy...vacation...and other stuff that slowed me down... Anyway, I really like these! We have a 20' ProSeries Metal frame pool, but I have it built on a concrete pad which sits lower than our paver patio...as such, it is like an in ground pool from the patio. I have used the ladder that came with the pool for years and just sat them at the far end of the retaining wall and to get in and out of the pool, you would have to take a 3 foot step off the wall and onto the ladder...not the safest situation, so I decided to get some steps and just go straight off the patio and onto the steps...these work great for that!Installation: YOU HAVE TO HAVE DRY SAND FOR THIS TO GO SMOOTHLY! If you buy a bag of sand at you favorite home improvement store...most likely it will be wet...wet sand does not flow good... I would recommend getting a big pan or tub and dump the sand in it and let it sit for few days baking in the sun to dry it out...once you do that, it flows right into the little hole. I did consider just drilling holes and letting it fill with water, but was afraid that would not provide enough weight. Anyway, I got the sand in and it just snaps right together...feels very sturdy to me...even had a kid over yesterday afternoon who was hanging off the handrails...they moved a little, but held in place good!It did take a bit to fill it with water once it was in the pool and I still do not think I have all the air out of it...it tries to float a little bit when the kids get rowdy in the pool...I may drill a few holes in some spots to help get the air out. I ended up tying the stairs to the metal frame of my pool to keep them from moving...worked really good. If I had them next to a wooden deck, I could use the supports that came with it which would keep it in place, but it is next to a paver patio...So far I am very happy with this...didn't give it 5 stars, but it is a sold 4 to me!

A few improvements and this would be a great product
The positives: shipping was super fast and I can't thank you enough for that! Look and feel of the steps is great and I would highly suggest following the instructions on adding sand to it before using in your pool. It's a nice and modern looking item and suits my purpose very well. I also appreciated the height of the top step as I was having difficulty finding something that was tall enough. The negatives: I was missing a nut in the parts list but had one in my tool chest...lucky! The braces that are to be hammered on with a rubber mallet didn't all work. I wound up having one on the back brace that simply wouldn't pop into place and was due to lack of stability in the plastic for the protruding nib. Not sure what I'll do there yet. Also, all the holes that the bolts need to go through still had plastic in them and needed drilling out. Not fun. The instructions for attaching the handles didn't clearly indicate they were not opposites. So I installed them and then had to reinstall one side again once I determined how the angled part of the railing went on. I suggest building the railings completely and then attaching them to the stairs so you only have to do it once. I also didn't like how the steps popped into place and would prefer a more mechanical connection there. I'm hoping they hold up OK.Price for it is a little high but, compared to other similar products, seems fine. My main issues are with the structural integrity of the nibs that the braces snap only and the holes I had to drill out. Also, I would prefer to have a bolt or two left over vs rummaging through my own stock for a random nut.
