The Complete Book of Glass Beadmaking Flexibound – September 7, 2010

I believe an instructional book should be a combination of ample photos, and clear, concise writing that gets to the point; with details, but not bogged down by redundant ground level basics. This book is beautiful. Art books should be well illustrated, and this one doesn't disappoint. The projects range from beginner to brilliant, yet the beginner ones are still far above a basic blob of glass, and the advanced designs are presented in a way that the reader feels confident that they are not out of reach to accomplish. Every craft or hobby has that one timeless "Bible" that people refer to over the years, and I can see this book being one of those.

This book exceeded my expectations. I began as a jewelry maker and progressed into bead making. When I learned how they were made and said "Oh Yes,I want to do that". As a beginner lampworker I learned a lot of useful techniques from this book. I have been learning what I could from any online videos and free tutorials I could find, but this book goes beyond those. I had many of those "so that's how they do it" moments. As I read through it I got ideas of my own for future projects as soon as my skills grow to meet my enthusiasm. This book is well worth the money spent.

I was impressed with the condition of this book. I had not purchased a used book on Amazon before. I would definitely purchase a used book again. It is a great way to obtain hardbacks.

Covered most of the information I was looking for

Beautiful pictures, detailed directions. Haven't actually tried any of the projects. I bought this book because I had been looking at the beadmaking kits that were available on Amazon, and wanted to find out if they really had everything you needed. This book was less than $4, and gave me the help I needed. I found that you really had to use a kiln to anneal the beads, and those ran around $700 on Amazon, wildly more than the kits cost. Ordering this book before ordering the kit kept me from wasting my money on the kit.

WOW! This book is incredible and gives you everything you need to know if you want to start beading. Full of techniques and ideas so your imagination can go wild.

My 9 year old has started making glass beads and this book has been a great reference full of tips and tricks of the trade. Beautiful color pictures have served as inspiration and the techniques are explained in great detail. We had borrowed this book from the library, but when it was time to return it, we ordered our own here to keep on hand.

This books is very great for beginners. Kimberly gives a lot of information on how to get started, things you might need, as well as an overview of different tools you'll use. She offers quite a few techniques and plenty of photos! I find the layout of the book is very easy to follow as well. I definitely recommend this book to someone who is just starting out and isn't sure where to begin.
