These shoes seems to get mixed reviews, but they work for my intended purposes which is bodywork and welding. Not the most comfortable but they are priced right.

***************************************** Updated: 10/16/18 I have gone through three pair thus far. The first pair (mentioned below) lasted the longest. Unfortunately it seems that quality seems to be suffering... The first thing to go is actually the sole of the boot. It will crack and then detach from the upper part. First pair: 8/7/13 - 04/01/16 Second pair: 04/01/16 - 04/18/17 Third pair: 04/18/17 - they are about done as of 10/16/18. So I'm still getting about a year out of them. I guess that's pretty good, but they're definitely not lasting as long as the first pair. Lowering rating from 5 to 4 stars. I'll be trying something different for my next pair of boots. ***************************************** The Steel-toe has saved my toes a few times splitting and hauling firewood. The break-in period was pretty short, probably a day or two with wearing them for 6-8 hours per day. I like them enough where I'm considering getting a second pair for when the first dies. I purchased the first pair on 8/7/13 and as of today (6/13/14) they are in really good shape. Some dings from the firewood and normal scuffing. No seam issues or sole issues thus far.

So this is the first time I have bought a better work boot than what Walmart has to offer. For what it is worth I will try to review this. I am a big guy and work on my feet 50+ hours a week doing fab and install. These were snug the first time I put them on but don't let that scare you. The leather will loosen. They were a little tough to break in with the first week being the worst. I kept my shoes close in case I needed to change. But after that they got better and better. They have held up to many kicks, stomps, weld spatter, and a lot of walking. Now that they are worn in I may get an insert for extra comfort but all in all I am happy with the product! I will buy another pair when these need to be replaced

My son loves CAT boots, but the latest pair didn’t last a year before splitting by the ankle. He’s a teacher, not a construction worker so I’d expect they’d last longer. Never had this issue before **update- after contacting the company directly, CAT quickly responded and is replacing the boots. Quality boots backed by an attentive, well run company. I’ll have no hesitation in ordering from them again.

Had to return. My husband liked the way they looked but when he tried them on he said the top part of shoe was digging into top of his foot making it uncomfortable
