I thought it was a full size drive tbh.. my shock when I got a laptop drive. 😭. That's my mistake but still a good little drive for money.

Like all such drives for recent computers and size constraints, this tool, while very effective for its use, take great care to not damage it when inserting, removing a CD/DVD and then closing the drive tray

First drive was a DVD-RW drive but was DOA, it would not read any discs (even CDs). Replacement was a DVD-ROM, a Hitachi-LG DH41N, not a DVD-RW drive. Keeping it since it's read speeds are very fast.

When playing a disc this thing sounds AWFUL, like it's scraping the heck out of the disc, but no damage has occurred so far. My guess is something internal could be loose because that's the only thing I could think would cause this noise without scratching up the disc. Also, the tray is not powered, so it won't open all the way on its own or close on its own if that's something you want in a disc drive. It works just fine other than the noise. Also, for anyone unaware like I was, you'll need an adapter for the power cable to fit this smaller plug if this is going in a PC tower rather than a laptop.

I installed this drive in an older Dell PC after its OEM drive failed. It fit perfectly and works beautifully.

I like it a lot, for personal home use

Tristemente es producto renewed (usado), y en mi experiencia de 16 años trabajando con grabadores de disco comprar usados es una mala idea, ya que el laser tiene un tiempo de vida util y cuando este se llega a su final el grabador da uno y mil poblemas. El detalle es que en la publicacion no se menciona que sea renewed, en caso contrario no las hubiera comprado. Ambas quemadoras dieron distintas fallas, mala grabacion a 6x y 8x, tiran error de grabacion al 98%, una de ellas da donut ring y la otra hasta raya los discos pues les hace una marca profunda en la superficie. Es la segunda vez que me sucede esto en amazon, y la primera me dieron fallas muy similares provenientes de un proveedor oriental. Que decepcion.

Instale el lector en mi PC pero no lee ni CD ni DVD. Lo probé con otra PC sin éxito.
