The Ravensbrück horror
Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly is a historical fiction novel that presents the story of three women affected by the war in one way or the other. The premise and the characters are not entirely made up but based on real-life heroes and monsters. The book is a beautiful attempt to provide a voice to the 'rabbits' and countless other women imprisoned and tortured at Ravensbrück. It also serves as a reminder that no evil is everlasting.Detailed review can be read on my blog.

Well-written book based on true stories
We should read and study history so we won't repeat the same mistake again. Lilac Girls is based on true stories from Word War II. Lilac Girls describes life of women from different coutries, their suffering and consenquences during and after the war. Reading book like this make people think , how human is capable of something that evil. I found really interesting to know the views from the German side, because we read many books about Holocaust and their victims and their stories, but rarely what was the view of the Germans people that time. On the other side.. disappointed the author of the book says it is based on true stories, but there is one fictional character, just to make book more interesting ...

Beg and End
Beginning is great and unputdownable. End is great too. In the middle it kind of lost the crispness and became soggy...
