Great buy
Great instruction. Works great in my septic as an overflow warning float.

Work's great at half the cost!
Needed to replace well tank float switch. This one is lighter and easier to install the the previous one. Float weight could have been easier to install as it did not come with instructions and I broke the cable lock ring. Otherwise it is working great. Next is seeing how long it lasts.

Does the job...
Works quite well for automatic sump pump. Need to figure out your mounting as there is quite a bit of range in the switch, it needs to tilt quite a ways up to turn on, then quite a ways down to turn off again. I secured the switch to a concrete block to keep it 8 inches off the bottom of the tank and to allow it to tilt downwards properly.

lasted 6 years
Its not bad for the price. Bought 2 of these(2017), so when the first one failed in 2023, I installed the spare. I then ordered a new spare. I don't directly run the 240V 2HP well pump, but use a 110v contactor through this float switch, so the small microswitch in this float does not have to deal with any inductive loads.

BUY THESE IF YOU NEED TO DECIDE WHAT THE SWITCH DOES!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so let me dive into why I'm totally wowed by this float switch. I run a water business and, being fairly new to this, I'm learning on the fly. I've hooked up tanks as alternate water sources to homes before, but adding pumps was new territory for me. My background? Sump pumps for basements and sewers, but tanks? That's a different ball game. Here's a little insight for those who might not know (like I didn't at first) – standard float switches typically trigger pumps to drain water when the float is up. But for water storage, you need the exact opposite. And yep, I learned this the hard way. Wired everything up, standard style, and then hit the panic button when my pump went berserk every time I plugged it in. Rookie mistake, but hey, we all start somewhere, right? Then I discovered this float switch, and it's a total lifesaver. It's versatile – you can set it to work whichever way you need, up or down. This little gem completely saved my project.A bit of background: I never planned to offer this as a service, but living in an area with limited technical support, I figured why not help out where I can? So, here I am, learning as I go and sharing the wisdom.Long story short: If you need a float switch that adapts to your needs, this is the one you want. It's a game-changer, especially for self-taught folks like me!

Stopped working suddenly
Float just up ajd quit, about a month after being placed into service. Not a part that can just quit without causing you a headache. Go for something of better quality. It seems that the ratings here dont always apply.
