Something New! Something Good!
To start off by saying i am a big fan of all the Metal Gear games, I have played and beat most of them aside from the older ones during the 80's or 90's can't remember. I beat the follow MGS games, MGS1 playstation (when it came out), MGS2 (when it came out) for Ps2, MGS3 snake eater (a little later after the release), MGS4 guns/sons of the patriots (one of my fav of all time), also beat the Cyber ninja game (both of them, the side game for Ps1, and the latest one with Raidin, forget the name, that game was difficult but very fun). Now on to what i think about this game. also a note about the PsP games, i never got a chance to play them very much. So, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, what is it ? This is a game that took almost everything good from all of it's predecessors then added what i thought was going to be just another game, turns out it wasn't. MGS5 has blown my mind to start... one thing i really love in this new game is you get to drive stuff and ride it, i.e. animals, this has never been done before in a MGS game, its so cool. Also As in Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes has a base-building feature that allows you to develop weapons and items from their virtual motherbase, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. Another cool thing is the ability to access the motherbase from their real-life smartphones i.e. cellphones for real. While i have not tested this i plan to.Ok heres the "New Stuff" that has been added to this game.- Day and night cycle that runs in real-time. ("depending on how you travel between one stage to the next, the travel time will affect the time of day when you arrive at your destination")- They use a new voice for Snake in this one which is Kiefer Sutherland. While i can understand why, it took me a bit of time to get used to it.- New game play direction will allow the player to choose in what order the story events take place by selecting missions in any order they like. ("understand the encompassing message by the end".)- Uses the Fox Engine. ("for high-end consoles and PC's, software system that rules the graphics in this game")- More freedom during game play.- New ways of traversal and sneaking methods, such as taking a plane, helicopter or motorcycle to the mission area.(This is in order for Kojima to accomplish a "true open world experience" with Ground Zeroes.)- Access the motherbase from their real-life smartphones.- A base-building feature that allows players to develop weapons and items from their virtual motherbase.A bit of the Plot (not enough to where it will ruin it for you).Set in 1975, sometime after the events of Peace Walker. players control returning protagonist Big Boss/Snake (Kiefer Sutherland) as he works with Militaires Sans Frontières to infiltrate an American black site on Cuban soil called Camp Omega. His main objectives are the extraction of Cipher agent Pacifica Ocean/Paz Ortega Andrade (Tara Strong) and Sandinista child soldier Ricardo "Chico" Valenciano Libre (Antony Del Rio), who were both involved in the events of Peace Walker. How i reacted when i begin playing.I found it difficult to use Solid Snake aka Big Boss at 1st during my play thru, it took me awhile to get used to the controls, after i did the game seemed to just light up in my mind. Reason i gave this game 5 stars is because its a must have even if you're not a fan of MGS, this game is amazing. So grab a copy and check it out, trust me you won't be sorry, I'm not thats for sure lol. Also for the price this is a home run for what this game gives you, sure its short but this is just some of the great things to come.A few notes and information from other places below this.- Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has received generally positive reviews.- Gamespot rated the game 8 out of 10 and calling it "challenging and engrossing stealth mechanics" and "extremely replayable"- IGN also gave the game an 8/10, praising it greatly for its stealth mechanics and high replayability-The game has been greatly criticised for its short campaign mode, which can be completed in under two hours. Others also have noted that the lack of real names for weaponry has taken away some of the initial appeal the series had carried over through it's long history, straying it further from the surrealism that fans had come to enjoy.

A Sign of What's To Come (And My Take on the $30 for 2 hours thing)
Let's get the big thing out of the way first. This game costs $30 and I finished the Ground Zeroes main story in 95 minutes. I'm going to go back to the side missions and extra content, but if you are interested in the Big Boss story mission and nothing else, this is short. Some games only need to be an hour or two long. Some games I prefer to spend 30, 40, 60, 80 hours with. I also no longer worry about a dollar per hour philosophy when buying games, and I spend my time and money on what I want to experience, as opposed to what is the best bang for my buck. So that is where I am mentally. If you want more complete retail games, or don't spend a ton of money on video games, or just want to play a full Metal Gear Solid V as opposed to its Chapter One, it's ultimately up to you whether you should buy this game now or whether you will be happy with this release. Now, with all of that said, Ground Zeroes is amazing. The graphics, the lighting, the sound, the scale of the environments, and any other technical elements you can think of blend together to create a stunning game. The simple act of giving Snake a few different gadgets, improving how he moves, and making one large map changes Metal Gear for the best. It feels like you can truly approach situations differently, and you can pay attention or ignore whatever obstacle you want. Do you blow up the anti-air weapons? Do you take out the guard in the watchtower? Do you use the tranquilizer and stick people up? Do you run in guns blazing? Or do you take your time and crawl quietly past everything? As I played Ground Zeroes, it felt more like I was infiltrating a base, as opposed to navigating a room with three to five moving objects with coned vision attached to an alarm system. The guards can see you from a distance, not just ten to twenty feet away like in previous games. When you do get caught, it feels like the entire base is after you, not just the guards in the room and a random squad that spawned in out of nowhere. I will continue to think Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4, and Peace Walker are great games, but Ground Zeroes is yet another leap forward in terms of how a Metal Gear Solid game is supposed to play and feel. There's a few unremarkable quirky things about the game that I could put in the cons list--I thought it was odd when you interrogate some guards, they don't say "There's ammo over here" and instead you have to read the game's subtitles--but there's nothing from a gameplay perspective I would change. Ground Zeroes is without a doubt the most accessible, most diverse, and best playing Metal Gear Solid game in my opinion. Sure, if the game was longer or was just released alongside The Phantom Pain, I would be happier, but as I said this isn't too much of an issue for me.My main problem with Ground Zeroes is that it doesn't wrap up as well as it could have. The ending for this story is supposed to pack a punch (and if you've seen any of the MGSV trailers, you already know what happens), but it was more like a person stumbled a little bit and instead hit me in the arm as opposed to straight in the jaw. Part of it is the writing, part of it is because I thought I would control Snake two or three times during the last section of Ground Zeroes, but ended up sitting there, and part of it is the cut scene didn't feel as well put together than the brilliant introduction. It feels a little worse than it otherwise would have, because the game ends and I'm there sitting down thinking about how I have to wait at least another year, before I can play The Phantom Pain. However, after seeing the technology behind the Fox Engine, seeing this game run smoothly at 60 frames per second, and seeing what Ground Zeroes had to offer in terms of gameplay, I know The Phantom Pain is going to be one hell of a game.

Great!
This is a great game, but very short for a prologue, I was expecting more challenges! but the graphics are spectacular! Looking forward of kojima's further work.
