While searching for his little brother in the woods, 12-year-old David Freeman (Joey Cramer) falls down a ravine and is knocked unconscious. After what seems like minutes, he returns home, only to discover that eight years have passed since he was declared missing and presumed dead. Even more mystifying is that David hasn't aged, nor can he account for the time lapse. Meanwhile, NASA officials stumble upon a futuristic spacecraft and are determined to assess what David knows about it by locking him in a top-secret lab for scanning and testing. His only chance of escape is in the spacecraft manned by Max, a wisecracking robot. Cramer gives an earnest performance, which overcomes an imperfect script, while enough one-liners and imaginative animation will keep families engaged. Watch for Sarah Jessica Parker in one of her first film appearances. Rated PG for language. (Ages 6 and older) --Lynn Gibson Review: "A GREAT GET THE FAMILY TOGETHER MOVIE" - This has always been a great "Kid Friendly, Family, Fun movie"!! David, a 12 year old boybwho lives in Florida with both parents , his dog Bruiser & his VERY ANOYING little brother Jeff. While going to a neighbors on the 4th of july to bring Jeff home David falls into a ravine after being scared by Jeff in the woods. Waking up after falling, David heads home to deal with Jeff only to find his family doesn't live there anymore. David has actually been missing for 8 years. The police are called to help this lost boy, locating his family, everyone is puzzled to where David has been for so long, "WITHOUT AGING ONE DAY". David was abducted by an alien spaceship, when it returned David home to the exact spot in that ravine, it just happened to be 8 years later. Now the alien ship needs David because it stored star charts in David's memory , so it can't get home . Fun , fun, fun. All kids love this very adventurous movie. My two grandkids, 8 years & 3 years of age couldn't stop watching. When it ended they stated it over again. Sarah Jessica Parker is seen in this movie with her purple hair after going to a "TWISTED SISTER" CONCERT, and David's favorite tv show "STARSKY & HUTCH" WAS CANCELLED. Yeah the saying is true "TIME FLYS WHEN YOUR HAVING FUN". This movie does just that. ❇THANKS FOR READING,BYE✨ Review: Great movie must see! - Excellent movie arrived in great condition! Thank You!!

FUN FUN FUN! Okay, I'll Talk!
I first saw Flight of the Navigator(1986) in 1988. The kids in the classroom cheered at the dogs catching frisbees and Alan Silvestri's intergalactic, energetic, synthesizer driven music score. This is a Norwegian production bought up by Walt Disney Pictures and it was directed by Randal Kleiser(Grease). In the 1980's, there was a mix of movies about aliens from outer space. The aliens in The Thing(1982) were hostile while E.T. in E.T. The Extra Terrestrial(1982) was benign. Flight of the Navigator flopped in 1986, but it found success on VCR's and TV. Joey Cramer played David Freeman, a boy living in Florida in 1978. He's kidnapped by aliens and dumped back on Earth in 1986. David is held captive in a NASA base and a UFO tries to help him get back home. Paul Reubens provided the voice of the robot "Max" under the name "Paul Mall". The first hour of Flight of the Navigator is a moody science fiction drama. The second hour turns into a funny, action packed family film. The film was packed with state of the art visual effects and early CGI. A young Sarah Jessica Parker plays an intern that befriends David. David's brother is bratty in 1978 and sensitive and caring in 1986. This film isn't perfect. There's a romantic subplot with David and a girl in 1978 that goes nowhere. This film was a hit on VHS and TV; Walt Disney Pictures was unable or unwilling to produce a sequel. There are rumors about a remake in the works. Flight of the Navigator is an underrated classic from the 1980's.

A Must have Region Free Import (Lacking Extras) But, better then the old dvd
I love this film (Seen it countless times while growing up It's still to this day one of the Smartest Written Disney Films ever It gets dismissed by Sci Fi fans/ time travel fans It's in the same league as The "Original" Back to the Future The film is pretty simple a boy is chasing his little brother in the woods falls wakes up 8 year in the future (but, his fall seemed like it only lasted a quick moment) He goes home unaware this is NOT the same home he left only a few min prior and the story picks up and goes It's 90 minutes and it's a quick 90min. They got a whole lot of Story and F/X throughout the film The UFO which is Both Practical effect and early CGI looks really good most of the time I think it's held up as good as it has due to the fact they used Both Practical & CGI The cast was good Joey Cramer was a good child actor that did a few Big Studio Films then diapered from acting all together (which is a Shame cause he was good for someone that young) But, looking back at the track record of Hollywood Child Stars he did what was best for him Veronica Cartwright as the Mom (Great Casting a truly under-rated actress that can do anything!) She was in the first Alien that makes her a Rock Star in my eyes... I always felt her roll as Helen Freeman David's mother was so great (Maybe one of the most under-rated mothers in the 1980's) Cliff De Young as the Dad (Much like casting Veronica Cartwright perfect father) he too has been around a while and can do anything I always loved him in this flick Cause he's the dad I'm sure every kid want! Sarah Jessica Parker (Young Adult) it's interesting to see her in this film she's pretty young it's after Square Pegs so she's grown into a young woman Her performance isn't anything special but, It's interesting to see her at this age (The first time i seen this film i thought she was very pretty) Who would've thought she would've become a massive star in the mid to late 90's into today Howard Hesseman (He was a odd choice mostly due to the fact he always played a lovable beatnik hippie on tv) In this he's simply a Bad guy that use a 12 year old boy for his own self reasons and last but, not least the great Iconic Paul Reubens as the Space Ship's AI Max very smart casting I'm pretty sure this was his first v/o work and it's amazing how good the final product turned out he would later do a laundry list of v/o work! If you never seen this and you are at least 21 or so shame on you How could you have never seen this simple but, enjoyable family Sci Fi flick Second Sight is this very cool little Distrusting House (Much like Twilight Times) some of there releases are Region B though But, there prices are Not anywhere Near the high mark-up price TT is) The Audio Commentary with Director & Producer is very cool it's a very cool Exclusive If this does ever get a Region 1 (US & Canada Blu Ray Release i doubt it'll have this Commentary track) If you grew up loving this film it's a real buried treasure being on Blu Ray If you buy it from various sellers you can snag a copy for around $14.99 it's worth it The PQ is really nice the Disney DVD actually was leaps and bounds next to the VHS Home video version Had the old VHS it had lines from pausing through out the tape I watched the vhs version a lot) I'm not even sure if it's playable now? So the HD Blu Ray version is at least 5x better as far as PQ if you compare it to the DVD 2.0 PCM audio is better then the 2.0 on the dvd (I really wish it was 5.1 Cause the film has so much going on in different scenes it could benefit having better surround sound It's one of those strange films from the 80's almost everyone seen But, people don't remember it's name It's held up, there are very small things that make it seem dated some of the clothes, hairstyle and the rock band Twisted Sister is brought up For a 1980's Disney film there is some language but, it's Nothing major It's really under appreciated still to this day All those children of the 80's should introduce there kids to this film This Blu Ray is a true must have to add to any Collection 8.5/10
