SUGAR SKULL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS SILICONE CANDY CHOCOLATE FONDANT SUGARCRAFT MOLD

I wanted to make some little Dia de los Muertos pendants for my granddaughters and new this would be small. I got some liquid Sculpey and used it in my little convection oven. First off, you CAN over-cook the stuff. Not the mold, the liquid Sculpey. I ended up with a well-browned miniature sugar skull. The one thing, and I haven't really attempted to paint it yet, but the molded features of the skull are VERY tiny, lots of 'em and VERY intricate. In order to paint them, I'm gonna have to use a VERY tiny paint brush and a magnifying glass to even be able to see the lines. Fortunately, I have both. I don't have such a steady hand anymore though. The other thing is, once you pour the liquid Sculpey in but before you bake it, let the filled mold set undisturbed for at least 24 hours to allow the bubbles to rise out of it. All four of the moldings I did ended up with little tiny bubbles in the face. You can't see them except under the magnifying glass but they WILL make it difficult to do a smooth micro paint job on the pieces. I REALLY overbaked one, I think my second try, and had to throw it out. But it's fun and the detail is quite impressive. Amazing what computer design can do these days. Liquid Sculpey ain't cheap so either have plenty on hand for re-do-s or get it right the first time and just keep doing what you did. I think a two-ounce bottle of the liquid Sculpey does five molds and I really squeezed the last one.

Please see the dimensions:3 x 2.6 x 0.3 inchesand that's including parts that aren't the cavity. So dinky and little, very disappointed :(

This item is extremely small. I don't believe anywhere in the description does it give a describe just how small this mold really is. I was very disappointed upon receiving it. I was going to return it however, the cost to return would be more than the value of the product so I might as well just keep even though I'll never use it.

So disappointed! I can't use this mold at all. It's so tiny there no way I can make assorted colors the way it should be done in this skull. I have to return it.

Item different from the picture. Picture shows a pink single well detailed skull. What I got was a tray of red six skulls like for ice cubes, and no the with shape of skull just regular ice cubes with a side with skull on it... so disappointed. Not worth the trouble.

It’s great, we just wish we could find bigger!!
