Update 2025: still holding up, even after baking for years in the Texas sun. Am pleased. UPDATE: after reporting to Amazon, I was sent a brand new one. As you can see from my updated photos, it’s amazing and definitely heavy duty. We set it on our rain barrel. We shall see how it stands against the rain, but happy to have have gotten a better product. Received a very defective item, with holes in it. For $60 plus some change I would expect there to be better quality control before shipping. Someone literally saw the item, thought wow this looks right, put it in a box and shipped it to a customer. I have ordered a replacement and will change my review upon getting the newer one.

I decided to "Go Green"-er and make a rain barrel for my wife and her extreme love of all things green. My biggest problem was that my house in southern Georgia does not have gutters and I wasn't keen on installing them anytime soon. I needed something that could collect a large amount of runoff from the roof of my house in a corner that a lot of water would concentrate in when raining. I made the rain barrel with a new water barrel that I found cheaper on a competitor's site and some parts I ordered from Amazon like teflon tape and two brass faucets. My local hardware store is insanely overpriced for everything since we're in smalltown USA. So, I had everything installed and functioning with no way to collect the rainwater efficiently. I looked at a bunch of options like tarps spread on posts with twine or cables holding it up, making a massive collection point, a special funnel produced by some company online specifically for collecting water in a free standing rain barrel (which was WAY overpriced and, thankfully, out of stock), and then THIS. I am extremely happy with this automotive part for my purpose! It works perfectly for my specific application. Now, to be fair, you would definitely collect more water faster and more efficiently if you had gutters and a a special application to divert the water from the gutter downpipe, but this works great after one or two real good rains. My wife waters her back porch garden full of all kinds of flowers - both potted and planted in the ground. If you have a small flower garden, one barrel should be enough. If you have more water needs, you could always setup more barrels as overflow, but gutters would definitely be much more prudent. Regardless, this was great for me with my little corner where water would flow like a waterfall during a rainstorm.

Not much to tell, it fits the drain funnel it is made for. It's made well and is quite sturdy.

Exactly what I was looking for. Very heavy duty I was surprised by its weight and thickness. Sits right on my 50 gallon drum no more spilled oil! The screen fell out which isn’t important to me but might be to some so only 4 stars for that reason - if your going to give it a screen do it right!

The screen has become so clogged even after scrubbing it. Is it possible to purchase a new screen? We love the product.

Great buy and is a great help for what we need. A little expensive but well worth it.
