Yes, this is for horses but in our home, the 2 legged variety of animal utilizes MSM, along with our dogs. Many do not realize that MSM is a fantastic Chelator and will help to rid the body of heavy metals along with helping to control the pain and inflammation of arthritis. Just to be clear, I am not a doctor, I am just someone who has managed to beat Breast Cancer completely naturally and is totally holistic. MSM is a great supplement for anyone's diet, however, everyone should do their own research and consult their Naturopath before starting any supplement routine. Of all MSM Supplements, I have found the AniMed Pure MSM to be the most pure and effective on the market. It is also so much cheaper than buying it in tiny capsules. This is also a great supplement to add to your dogs water. It helps to relieve joint issues and the dogs don't mind the taste. If you are unsure if MSM will help you, I encourage you to research its benefits, you may be surprised. Just a bit of advice....start slowly and work your way up and give it a few weeks before judging. As with all supplements, it takes a few weeks before you see improvement.

You probably all know but to repeat, MSM provides the organic bio-available sulfur necessary for a lot of needs in the body like the tissues, collagen production (for all joint related problems), hair, nails and the skin to name a few. Its oxygen transport system is what seems to be helping the cancer patients as cancer is an oxygen deficiency of the cells going into fermentation. It also helps with liver detoxification phases which are greatly impaired during cancer treatments. If you experience skin rashes lower the dosage to the level you can tolerate and increase the frequency until you find a safe zone. After some time you should start to tolerate better. The advantage of consuming MSM is much greater than skin rashes unless they become in excess. If you ask your doctor, chances are he/she doesn't have a clue because they are not trained on natural supplements so there is nothing wrong about your medical doctor not knowing about MSM. That's why we Naturopaths are trying to fill the need for people who are looking for alternative solutions. To respond the other posts about taste, I suggest my clients to take MSM with freshly squeezed lemon juice and about 1/4 tsp of air dried Himalayan Sea salt or Hawaiian Red Sea salt. Celtic Sea salt is also OK. Do not use white sea salt sold in health food stores as they are processed. If it is taken for cancer, I would not substitute orange juice or any other sweet fruit juice to mask the taste. . One more thing, DMSO and MSM work the same way but DMSO reduces to MSM (oxidizes to MSM) in the body. So you get the same effect. But DMSO is much more expensive and taste is much more pronounced (bitter). If you can find a natural healthcare practitioner who administers IV treatments, DMSO is the way to go. One way to gage how badly you need DMSO is that you may get extensive body odor (garlicky sulfur odor). This is probably more than you need to know but you should not get any garlic breath or body odor by using MSM as it has already been oxidized. I buy this for my three senior horses and feed with animed Glucosamine 5000. One lb lasts about 10 days for the three of them. My 30 year old gelding frolics like a colt. This is the first year I've given it to my 23 year old mare religiously. Usually she spends half of the winter on pasture and gets very stiff in the shoulders due to arthritis and conformation flaws (pigeon toed). This year I pulled her from the pasture in October and started feeding grain with MSM and Glucosamine daily, and she is doing fantastic! I took her out riding last week and when I turned her out, she was running and bucking when she would typically be stiff. So I reccomended it to my mom for her senior gelding who has a touchy hip and usually can't stand for the farrier. After 3 weeks on it, she got him shod, and the farrier even commented on how comfortable he stood. My only issue is with not being able to order and receive a months supply at once. I prefer the 1lb container because it fits my storage slots, but I guess I can order a 5lb and split it into some old ones.
