Easy to use
I was super nervous using this the first time, but the light makes it easy to see where the vein in the claw ends. I clip them every couple of weeks. No amount of treats or praise will get her to use the scratching toys, but she doesn't seem to mind. (I do put her in a burrito and have someone else hold her just in case. I would feel so bad if she got hurt) I probably could cut her claws back further like the vet does, but this keeps her from clawing up my furniture too bad. She can still use her claws to grab stuff, but they don't puncture. I thought about using those caps, but I didn't want to mess with super glue, or have her chew them off and swallow plastic.

Not All Nail Trimmers Are Alike
These trimmers are elite. I usually use the regular $10 clippers I see on amazon. They do the job and they're affordable. I was hesitant to pay double the price for some trimmers that looked sort of gimmicky. However, my dog hates nail clippings so I decided to take a risk and buy these. THEY WORK SO WELL. Here's why:1) They use a guillotine style cutter (super sharp blade). It's legitimately like cutting butter. The clipper style ones are like a scissor so the pinch your pet's nails. This can cause the nail to turn sharply before the cut, which causes pain and trauma to the dog. These clippers hold and slice the nail cleanly. You can be super precise and it's quick and painless, leading to less movement from the dog.2) They have a magnifying glass and a light. This does actually help you see the quick if the dog has white nails, but even if your dog has black nails (like mine), you can see clearly how close you're getting to the quick through the tip of the nail you just cut. The light and magnifying glass really let you get precise (especially when paired with the super sharp blade).3) The magnifying glass doubles as a nail catch. This means no more searching the floor for nail trimmings. Not essential, but definitely a cherry on top.I'm excited for my dog's nails to grow back so that I can cut them again! Seriously, this is a game changer.p.s. It's never too late to trim your dog's nails. If your dog's nails and quicks are super long, just trim every week little by little. The quicks will wear down as your dog walks and you can trim more and more over time. These trimmers make it ridiculously easy.

Horrible and cheaply made product
I got these for our husky who was overdue for a nail trim. These seemed like a good product as the reviews were pretty good but I was majorly wrong. They feel cheap right out of the box. Now my husky is use to getting her nails trimmed and I have never had an issue with her pulling from me. These clippers left like they were going to break every time I would try to cut her nails. On top of that they were getting stuck on her nails which obviously caused her to panic and pull from me. They did a horrible job cutting that they left her nails jagged. I couldn’t even finish her nails. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Quite Useful
The sound scares my dog a bit, which can be a bit of a problem when they try to run while I'm holding them in order to clip the nails. Nonetheless, the light makes it very easy to figure out how much to clip and they are very easy to use!

Trim your cat's nails with confidence!!
Cutting my Kitty's nails is an ordeal, to put it mildly. Having the little light right there where I need it ensures that I do not hurt her. Would definitely recommend.

Never felt comfortable using on my cats nails.
I think the concept is great and the lighted feature is a plus certainly, but in order for the light to be behind the nail so you can see the quick it ends up flashing in your face so it’s difficult to look at. The Magnifier is a great concept too, but I just had trouble seeing what I was doing, if that makes any sense? there were too many contraptions in the way between the light and the magnifier. Most importantly, I felt that the blade was very intimidating and it was very difficult to measure exactly where to cut because , the blade itself is thick and it has a divot in it. I had a hard time how far to put the nail into the device before I cut it. All together, it was just way too complicated and cumbersome and I just didn’t feel like All the extras were helping me To make a safe cut. However, I gave the clippers to my niece who used it on Her dog and she absolutely loves it. For her it was easier to see the nail than I could see on my cat. the larger caliber of nail in that species makes sense for these clippers. It does come with an extra blade so you can change it after the first one gets dull So that is nice.It could entirely be just me. I wanted every possible advantage to trimming my cats nails safely, and I just decided to go back to basics with the regular nail trimmer. I feel that I can see what I’m doing much more easily with the basic tool. So, it seems that these are perhaps good for dogs, but maybe less so for cats?

Great Product
This nail clipper is the best! My dog doesn’t like any other brand to clip his nails, he usually hets anxiety when clipping his nails. Not with Allstars Innovations PetiCare. Definitely recommend it for all small animals. My dog is a Shih Tzu.
