The PT-571 and 572+ are a great way to extend HDMI signals over category cable, I have deployed dozens over these and similar kramer extension products over my career as an AV Engineer and integrator. A few tips for those interested in buying these..Use shielded cat 6 WITH A DRAIN WIRE. The listing only recommends shielded but the additional drain wire is a must! Soldering the drain wire to the RJ45 connector is a good idea as well. This prevents it from losing contact. You will not get good result unless you use the drain wire! Short distances *may* work without it, though I've spoken with Kramer support about this and the drain wire is absolutely utilized in the video extension.Another tip is you only need power on one end, the category cable will carry low voltage over the line. So your transmitter will power your receiver or vice versa.
