I was re-tiling two walk-in showers and took a chance on buying these. First: you MUST be re-doing the floor of your shower (including ripping out the concrete beneath the tile, and re-grading the slope) if you want to install these. This will NOT work if you are just replacing tile or trying to replace the drain. It needs an entirely new slope and MUST be plumbed down below the tile line. Next, the drainage system is AWESOME. My tile guy was impressed as there are secondary catch drains beneath the top. It catches hair and has a basket to pull out (amazing for me, as I have LONG hair). The manufacturer also provides a hook to lift the plate. This is incredibly well thought out. I LOVE that I’m seeing my tile, and not an ugly grate when I look at my newly tiled shower. HIGHLY recommend.

We purchased the Neodrain 4"Square Shower Drain with Removable Tile Insert Grate, Brushed 304 Stainless because the renovation of our bathroom (and shower) required new plumbing fixtures; especially our old shower drain that was rusty and very moldy. The unique design of the shower drain is better appreciated in hand as the photos in the advertising does not do it justice. Its well made, almost craftsmanship like, using excellent materials that enhances the shower floor with it's brushed stainless steel finish. The unit does provide a cavity on the other side of the lid for inserting a tile - to make the drain look custom with the shower floor tile-work. As for the interior of the drain. . . we were very pleased with the filter that helps keep hair and debris from clogging the house plumbing. Its easy to lift the top lid, remove the filter and after cleaning, place it in it's location. The install was easy and straight forward - the box comes with instructions that are clear and precise. Also, an adapter for fitting the unit to larger drain pipes than those used today is provided. We tested the drain for water removal and at full shower flow; the drain did not back up and handled the flow easily with zero backup. We can safely say that any DIYer with some plumbing experience will be able to do a new or a replacement install with little effort. Highly recommended!

If you are unsure of your tile installers ability to do this go with a simple mosaic with rectified edges Suches 2” x 2” squares or 1” x 1” squares, rectangles, etc. This pattern was very tricky but of course our tile guy is amazing! Loved the look and quality of this product. But I couldn't get 4 2x2 tiles to fit in it. Would have to cut down. Plus it did not fit with the schluter kerdi drain system we installed. Now I waited too long to return, stuck with it.

I used two of them in our renovations, looks great and seem to serve as well. I really like the strainer option which come with it, it saves blocking issues.

We’re very happy with our NeoDrains! They look incredible with our tile embedded in them. It’s a terrific clean look and also highly functional with the water easily draining around the edges. They are an awesome and relatively inexpensive upgrade over typical drains and they really elevate the look of your custom shower. Highly recommend!

Installed in my shower. Everything looks good and works good, just the hair filter a little bit too short. If they build deeper it would be great product. I bought extra piece so it can catch hair better
