This is a very nice easel, I got the natural color and I am very happy with it. It is made with straight, solid wood. It can take small and large canvases up to 48", and is highly adjustable, very high quality! It went together very easily with the included instructions and even came with screwdrivers. It looks like a nice piece of furniture when assembled. This should cover all my needs I highly recommend this easel and I would buy it again. Thanks!

One of my best purchases of all time on Amazon. This is as well built as a fine piece of furniture. I love how adjustable this easel is. You can position your artwork low for sitting or tall for standing. It also accommodates a large variety of artwork sizes. I have this in my office next to my desk. I can just slide over in my chair and paint at the exact height I want. That way the easel is right next to my desk monitor where I have photos/source materials to paint from. I don't know the wood type but it seems like a hardwood. Each piece is straight as an arrow (easy assembly) and sanded perfectly smooth with a light finish. There aren't any knots in the wood on even the smallest pieces. Traits: - sturdy wood - easy to assemble - very economical for the quality - fits in small studios - accommodates small and very large artwork - flexible height for sitting or standing - works closed (leaning against a wall) or open freestanding Since this sounds like a paid review... I wasn't paid for this review. I didn't receive the easel at a discount for this review. I wrote this hoping that someone else would not purchase an overpriced easel from Blicks and instead take a chance on a cheaper AND better easel from Sham-azon.

Beautiful easle, the wood, design, and flexibility of features. Works well, sturdy and accommodates large or small canvasses. Putting it together needs careful attention and thinking-out because instructions (pictoral) have very specific visuals for correct facing and placement which if not observed can require re-doing correctly. One person can easily do it except for last fitting which needed an extra hand to hold pressure (due to a tension spring) while I screwed fitting heads on). Otherwise, it's an easy and beautifully made product with quality wood and fittings, design and style, should really last I think.

I’ll start with the good. Once assembled I was very happy with the quality, wood, stability and feel it’s a great bargain and will be my first and last easel. However; (personal experience) The video on assembly's was not clear enough and went far too fast so it took me quite awhile to assemble. What’s needed is one without background music (that depicts calm music as if it’s a breeze) all the while you are having to back up video over and over again to figure out the assembly. This would be especially true for someone not familiar with an easel set up. So to improve; make a You tube video with an actual person assembling and explaining from start to finish - eliminate the music and have a lot more happy people.

The reviews were pretty spot on as far as quality that I had read. I am so happy I purchased this easel and actually it was not hard to put together as other people that I saw from reviews was the only drawback for them. I will say that I agree with everyone the fact that there is no actual written instructions and unless you are pretty savvy with picture directions this could be a difficult task. I did time myself putting it together and it took me exactly 34 minutes. Aside from no written directions the quality of the product is very sturdy very functional and everything I was expecting. This is also my first large easel purchase ever and I am very pleased, definitely recommend!! 5 stars all the way!!!

Well made . Easy to change positions. Would make a great gift for any artist that has space for it . It is big and the legs span out . I have a dedicated room for my painting so it’s perfect for me .

I got this 4 years ago for my daughter to finally have a professional easel to hold the many different sizes of canvas that she painted. She was delighted, put it work and made a adjustments as needed as she progressed. This beautiful wood easel took her to from being an occasional painter to a prolific artist who was always painting. With time and use, the wood has become worked in, more beautiful and inviting. Functionally, this easel is thoughtfully designed to prevent the problems that can make ill-fitting wood parts stick. It’s very stable. We’ve moved it easily from 16’ to only 8’ ceiling studios and it always fit without cramping her style. She loved having wood as the center of her work area. I love how easy it is to fold up and move. Wood is where it’s at. The indented tray is extremely useful to keep brushes, pencils and small mixing cups close at hand. It’s all very well made.
