LEGO Pirates Imperial Flagship (10210) (Discontinued by manufacturer)

After purchasing several Lego Star Wars sets for a 9 year old boy, I became intrigued by this set for myself (over 50 adult). After reading several reviews, I decided to take the plunge and buy my first Lego set for myself. I have helped my little friend build a couple of his Star Wars sets, but he has quite the knack for putting these sets together better than I can. I struggled the first night trying to find each specific part from one of the several bags they were placed in. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason one part or another is in a certain bag, and with over 1500 parts it became a chore to find that one little piece. I smartened up the second night and opened all the bags and separated the pieces into groups based on color. Voila! Building was a snap after that. Veteran lego enthusiasts probably knew this already, but to a novice like me, it made building the set a much better experience. It took me about 4 nights to complete the ship. The detail is fantastic! All the way down to treasure for the chest! The finished ship is big and proudly sits on my living room mantle. I enjoyed building this so much, I purchased the other 2 pirate ships! Amazon price by far is the most reasonable, but be patient and only buy directly from amazon. Prices fluctuate, but if its high, put it in your cart and wait for it to come down. I did that and within 2 weeks I bought all three ships. My 9 year old buddy has the Queen Anne's Revenge and Black Pearl on his Santa's list and come this Sunday he is in for a very merry christmas courtesy of Amazon, I mean Santa. Ho Ho Ho

This is a large lego set, it came in a huge box! the set took about 2 hrs to complete. There are some complaints for a lego set at this price i would expect canons for each of the port holes, it only came with. More figures would be good too. the set was missing 3 pieces, but that could have been my dog who stole them. overall happy with the set.

One of the biggest disappointments about the Lego Pirate System of old was the fact the the good guys' ships were considerably smaller than their Pirate counterparts. Not this time though. Lego probably should have given it a different name though; not that anyone could possibly mistake this one for the smaller one. The overall design of this ship is fantastic. Lots of sails, lots of cannons (although it would have been cooler if they included 8), and lots of room on this ship. The captain's quarters is nicely detailed (desk, map, telescope, and organ). The kitchen looks great too (table, utensils, carrot, oven with chicken legs, and a cook figure). There's even a jail cell to lock up Captain Redbeard . . . . or I guess this one's called Brickbeard. The anchor is nice and can be raised or lowered. As for the good guys, there's the admiral (or maybe he's supposed to be Governor Broadside, I'm not entirely sure), the leader's daughter, a commanding officer, and 4 soldiers (this time they get different faces). I should note that these cannons are considerably more effective than the old ones. The shark masthead is an odd, but nice touch. Oddly enough, there isn't a crane to lift the treasure chest. The masts are actually brown to look more realistic. The price is high for this set now, but it is worth picking up if you're a fan of Lego Pirate sets or old and/ or new.

Why waste your money on something if it doesnt keep them around. Do not enjoy spending one's money on a person you love only to find they leave you cuz they are just not that into you.

Only four cannons!!!! ok, that's the down side.the plus side is this ship is amazingly detailed. I think this is my favorite model so far. there is the captains quarters with booty chest and map and a telescope. the doors in and out work as do the shutters on the six windowsthere are cannon ports, four on each side.there is a WELL stocked gally with fish and veggies. it even has chicken drumsticks on a rotiserythere is a working anchorit even has a ratthe top comes off so ou can get to the detailed workings of the inner ship below decksthis is by far the best set i've seen. it is sturdy (unlike the grand carrosel) and doesn't easily fall apart when looked at. there are a lot of cool lego bricks to add to yor collection.I did have a little set back: there were a few pieces missing (i bought it new). I called Lego's 1-800 number for customer service and they are sending them right out to me free of charge!!! I was able to work on the top part while waiting for the pieces though.

My husband recently lost all of his childhood toys in a forest fire and kept talking about how much he wish he'd moved his LEGO ships to our home. I googled the LEGO ship sets and found this one. It looked pretty awesome, so I thought I'd order it for him, although it could never replace the ones he lost.Delivery of it was very slow but I couldn't find it in any store in Tucson so I can't really complain. It was packaged *very* well which, judging by earlier reviews, seems to have not been the case in the past. When it finally did arrive it was a complete hit.He loves it.It took him 2 nights to build and he said that it is by far the best LEGO ship he's ever built. It has two tiers and many nice features (working anchor, rat, pirates, treasure chest etc.).His only complaint...not enough cannons!Overall a quality set, totally worth the money.
