Q: This device claims to be usb 3.2 but the specs mention the speed of 3.1 and there’s no mention of the usb3.2 spec on the box or manual. mislabeled?

I don’t see where it says usb 3.1. Everywhere on the page it says ‘usb 3.2. Backward compatible with usb 3.1 and 3.0’. So yes it’s 10Gbps or about 1000mbps. And usb 3.2 can be either usb c or usb a. I see so many people confuse speed with connector type. Most desktop motherboards have both usb a and c 3.2 gen 2 in the rear and 3.1 (3.2 gen 1) usb a/c in front i/o. So yes, don’t worry it is 3.2 gen 2, not gen 1

Q: Can't initialize the disk even though it shows as online in disk mgmt. too bad we can't attach pictures in this q&a and have one thread?

Did you right click on the new drive in disk management, click properties and make it a Simple Volume?

Q: What are the exact millimeter/inch dimensions of the chassi actually?

The dimensions are 4.59 x 1.24 x 0.5 inches, 117 x 32 x 13 millimeters.
