The bottle, like many other plastics, came with an odd smell. This can be washed off and is ready for use. The plastic is sturdy and sits stable on my desk. The cap is offset from the handle on my bottle so it naturally fits my hand to mouth drinking position, unlike the picture in the description, the flip lid and the hand are not aligned slightly to the left. Although it seems like its not sturdy, the flip lid is strong and doesn't leak. I've had it for work and have run into no issues with it whatsoever. I gave it 4 our of 5 stars because when i begin to drink from it, i can hear the wailing sounds of my enemies screams coming from the tiny hole that equalizes pressure. Other than that, its a good buy.

My daughter uses it for volleyball. Pretty handy. Looks smaller than I imagined, but I like that it holds more water than the insulated Under Armour ones that a lot of players use. Lasts her a full day of playing. The strap is smaller than the picture portays, and not embroidered like the picture. Wish it were a little bigger so it would be easier to grab. Haven't had leaks yet, but the cap feels like it would pop open easy if someone weren't careful in snapping it shut. The mouth of the bottle is plenty big to add ice :)

So I found the bottle to be good for use while at the gym. Sealed and easy to handle. I only used it for water. One day it was on the floor beneath the dishwasher. It must have been hit by the edge of the dishwasher door b/c it caused a crease in the top of the bottle where it curse. The crease was not an issue until I tried to pop it out with my fingers on opposite sides of the crease. Bam it cracked and literally a piece of the bottle, like 2 mm in size just fell off. So basically the plastic is not pliable, it's hard and thin.

I really struggle to drink enough water each day and bought this to help me keep track of water intake and having enough supply to last the day. My only complaint is that when the top is screwed on, the opening for drinking is at a weird angle... Almost right in line with the handle, but slight off to the side... Making you lift and hold the jug with the entire weight of the water up in the air, handle on bottom (think if you are holding at a right angle to drink), and having to hold it steady while trying to drink without spilling all over you. Kinda annoying. But it holds quite a bit and I like the clear gray color.

I'm being nitpicky but there's a tiny whole on the top of the cap that sometimes the water comes out of as you're drinking! And when refilling or washing, I wish I could remove the plastic ring holding the fabric strap. It skeeves me out a little to know that some buildup could be getting under there. But overall, I'm very happy with it, love that it comes in black, the handle is big; didn't realize how my old bottle handle was tighter/smaller. Would buy again & probably will to have a backup.

I've read that PETG #1 is dangerous if reusing the bottle since the plastic chemicals can leach into the water.

I bought two of these in August 2018 and it's been holding up since. No scratches, no damage from washing or dropping, the lid is secure and non leaking, the handle is comfortable, there are ml markers to show how much you've been drinking, and overall it's just great to fill it at the beginning of the day. That way, if there's just a half gallon of fresh water around me, I'm bound to drink it vs having tons of coffee. I got the second one for my brother for the same reason - to drink more water - and it's a simple solution for him too.
