Irish Songs for Tin Whistle

Often times these tin whistle song books have many songs I'm not familiar with. I expect that, then I listen and learn the ones I didn't know. That's good because it increases the lexicon of my song vocabulary of this tradition. THIS book had more titles I recognized by name than the other books I've seen. It's well laid out. The score is one the left page and lyrics (and even chord charts if you need them) on the right. I agree with other reviews that a spiral binding would've been an improvement--but not necessary. It's a larger sized folio and any decent music stand could hold it open. They've even printed the whistle TAB right in the score line with the lyrics. For this price you can't go wrong. Music and song books don't have the same necessity of design standard that other publications follow. Aside from the possible addition of a spiral binding this is how they should all be done, and for this price it's a great deal. ~JSV

4.5 stars. Love this book. Great for any level. They even have the hole marks for beginners in each song (or for those who don’t read music). The songs are fun and beautiful. I just wish they had tempo ranges. I’m not familiar with all of the songs and a tempo indicator would be good for those unfamiliar with the songs.

Love the way it shows you the fingering in the tin whistle, also it shows you the writing melody, the chord for guitar and chord charts for the guitar. It's a well thought book, easy to learn. I'm really happy with it

For those like me, who can't yet glance at sheet music and translate that into notes > into finger movements quite yet, this book is fantastic. Seeing the tabs laid out below the standard sheet music is a great way for me to learn songs. I still rely mostly on the tabs for fingering, but the sheet music above gives me a feel for the timing of the notes. It's a great way to dive right in and start playing songs before you're fluent with standard music notation, hopefully it helps me get there too so I can enjoy the myriad other books that lack these very useful tabs. The only reason I knocked it down a star is the binding. Spiral bound would have been nice.

This is a good mix of beginner songs and a bit more challenging ones. The sheet music includes chords, lyrics (most with many verses), and even guitar chord tabs. This one book could be the center of a family gathering before you know it!

Includes image of which holes to cover below every note of every song in the entire book!

Great selection of songs but some are in key of D and others are in C or G. You need multiple whistles in different keys to play them all or be able to transpose.

A great selection of tunes for the tin whistle and I really like that this book has the fingering chart for each note so you are learning the fingering and the matching notes. A good size songbook and laid out very well. Very satisfied with the book and the price you can't beat for under 10 bucks!
