These are great. I read mostly all the comments that only rated this silverware set with 2 or 3 stars and I still bought them anyways. I'm very glad I did! No they are not sharp around the edges, I guess for those of you who might have had that you just got a bad set. I also read reviews stating that these are too "flimsy".....What are you guys using them for???? OBVIOUSLY they are meant for everyday eating. If you try to use one of the spoons to scoop out your hard as rock ice cream than yes, it will bend the spoon so buy yourself an ice cream scooper. For everyday use, however, these are great. I got this brand because my mother has a set made by Cambridge that she has had for over 20 years and they still have excellent shine. Seriously is a great buy for the cost and for something to use everyday. Don't be afraid to order, the pattern is beautiful and they are so shiny :)

Great quality silverware!
Love them! This is still my silverware set 3 years later and they are still shiny, even though I use them daily. Great quality and I love the design!

Quality exceeds cost
The butter knives are heavy but the forks and spoons are lighter. I'd call them midweight. For reference, lightweight would be the $2 individual pieces at Target or the $1 individual pieces at a dollar store. The matte to shine contrast is greater than what the photos show but I think that adds to the look of quality. For the reviews stating they're not durable, I can only assume they're being used to dig up gardens because I can scoop ice cream and mash potatoes no problem. The handles are slightly contoured and flat which makes them very comfortable in my opinion.

Like them so much, I'm buying more.
I love this pattern and the silverware in general. Based on the reviews, I was concerned that these would be flimsy and bend at the slightest pressure. Not so! I imagine that if I was putting most of my weight on them they might bend. These are the perfect weight. I bought these for my travel trailer, but I sort of want to switch them with my home silverware which IS quite heavy and the knives are always falling off because the handles are so stinking weighty. These Cambridge pieces are nicer than most restaurant silverware that does bend. I'm buying a second set for the camper so that I have plenty. The blossom design is just what I wanted. The background is brushed and the blossoms are shinier. A subtle, casual pattern that coordinates with my dishes perfectly. When my first set came, I was missing a spoon. I called Amazon right away, and they were able to send me a replacement set in time for my first trip out in my travel trailer. (Yay, Amazon!) As long as I returned the original set within 30 days, I'd have an even exchange. And that's exactly what happened. Make sure you have all your pieces immediately. I'm sure it was a fluke because the second set wasn't missing anything.

Not as high quality as I expected
I like to use good quality flatware and so when I choose this type I was really surprised at the low weight and how just overall it felt just plain cheapy. They look nice but when you hold a high quality fork it feels good in your hand. You like eating with it, it is part of the tradition of the meal. I felt like this could have been purchased at Big Lots or something like that. However, I needed them and I am searching for a better set.

Great value
I purchased these because I HATE heavy flatware. Nothing worse than heading out of the kitchen with your night time bowl of Cheerios and the damn spoon flips out of the bowl onto the floor. I don't know who thought heavy flatware was a good idea...it's bulky and cumbersome. I don't want to have to anchor my fork to the plate. This flatware from Cambridge is great. Perfect size and weight. I initially purchased a 20 piece set because I was unsure of the quality. I've looked at similarly priced sets at Walmart, etc and found them to be a little scary. The edges of the spoons were sharp and the tines of the forks very sharp as well. No such problems with this set. The quality is more than I expected. It's lightweight but not at all flimsy. If there is a negative it is this: Mine are beginning to rust a little where the finish is not shiny. But to be fair, I live in a location where everything metal corrodes/rusts. I now hand dry the flatware instead of letting it air dry and that's definitely better. Would I buy again? Already purchased my second set.
