My 3 year old son loves this puzzle! The puzzle pieces are big and made out of a thick cardboard material. The pictures are glossy and crisp. We were able to pull out all the puzzle pieces and put it together on our dinning room table with no problem. My son is able to do this puzzle all by himself and he has asked to do the puzzle almost every day since we got it. My son loves that this puzzle has 2 of his favorite things: construction and dogs.The box it came in looked like the first (top) picture. It has a big picture of what the finished puzzle is supposed to look like on the front and a smaller picture on the back. It also comes with a string you can use to carry it around.I wanted to give this 5 stars, but ended up docking a star due to the picture on the front of the box. We are trying to teach our son to use the picture on the box to identify the puzzle pieces. However, the front of the box has text boxes that cover the picture, so it makes it hard for him to figure out what piece matches where on the picture if it's a part that is covered on the top right or bottom middle portion. We ended up using the tiny little picture on the back of the box instead.But other than that, it keeps my son interested!

We bought this Mudpuppy puzzle for our daughter, who's had several other brands of puzzles because we wanted to try something different. As some others have pointed out, it's quite annoying to have the company logo and product description blocking parts of the large puzzle picture on the front of the box. Although the other side of the box contains the same picture, the size is much smaller, making it difficult for a toddler to be able to look at the details to complete the puzzle. In addition, the string to hold the box makes it hard to put the pieces back in. So, overall a poor design when it comes to the box itself, which may not seem like a big deal but when a toddler is trying to either put the puzzle together or the pieces back into the box by herself, details such as these do matter. I am also unhappy with the quality of the product. You can already see some of the pictures starting to peel off only after a few uses. Our daughter is fairly gentle with the pieces and we haven't had any issue with any of the other puzzles. That being said, she likes the puzzle and has learned some more about the different construction vehicles from playing this puzzle.

Wonderful floor puzzle for toddlers. We received the dinosaur one as a gift, and bought this construction dogs one recently to add to the collection. Definitely more challenging for a toddler than the Dino puzzle (or is it just that he finally figured that one out after hours and days of having us put it together?)! The artwork is fun, colorful, and the puzzle itself is very sturdy. We’ve had to wipe off some food transfer from our toddler, and the pieces haven’t taken any damage. Also can withstand a toddler running back and forth over it, dancing on it, whatever. The box itself is great, but once your kid destroys it, the prices will fit just fine in a small-medium plastic storage container.

My three year old son LOVES this puzzle. He put it together more than ten times in the first couple days, by the third day, many of the edges were frayed quite a bit as the layers of cardboard were separating and the picture was peeling off. While it is much thicker than cheaper puzzles, they didn't seem to do anything to make it wear better by sealing the edges or anything. He loves it so much I fixed it by getting some super glue and literally gluing around the edges of every single piece with plenty of glue. It has been assembled at least another fifty times since then and is still holding up as a result. But I don't think it would have lasted more than a couple weeks without doing that.

This is a great puzzles for toddlers through kindergarten (maybe even 1st grade)! I first came across it (and other Mudpuppy puzzles) at my local library. All the kids were attracted to this, including my son! He is 2.5 and really loves to put this puzzle together. He needs help at this point, but is steadily learning how to put the pictures/patterns/colors together, and having fun while doing it. The large pieces are easy for little hands to grasp and manipulate, and the puzzle is pretty large, so it keeps him occupied for a good amount of time as we work through the puzzle. I'd highly recommend this puzzle, and the other jumbo puzzles that Mudpuppy offers - we've had great luck with them! We also have a couple of their "pouch puzzles", and they're great for traveling. Enough pieces to put together, but few enough to keep up with all the pieces, and compact enough to fit in my bag for those times we go visiting. Try these puzzles out, you won't be disappointed!

This puzzle is perfect for our 3 year old. It’s her favorite puzzle and she wants to do it almost daily. After some practice, she can actually now do it by herself. It definitely helps that the puzzle pieces are larger than normal. And she’s also started to learn a few of the states which is an added benefit! I just bought another set as a gift for a 3 year birthday party.

Unfortunately, Big Box stores don't carry a variety of larger piece puzzles, so I am loving Mudpuppy for selling on Amazon. My 3 & 4 year old LOVED this puzzle. The bigger pieces are great for my developmentally delayed 4 year old as they are incredibly easy to handle.And they are sturdy enough to withstand the voracious fumbling of my 3 year old. I ordered this and Animals of the World, both Mudpuppy brand. In my opinion, the best puzzle purchase since the Melissa and Doug Wooden Tray puzzles for infants/toddlers. Highly recommend - great image, great quality, and very durable.

This is my two year old son's very first puzzle and it is just perfect. It's big enough for his little hands to put together and challenging enough for his imagination to follow. It's sturdy, well made, and pleasing to the eye. While putting it together, we revise colours, shapes, types of vehicles, numbers... Great fun!

The puzzle came up to expectation. I liked the chunky feel to it, perfect for little hands.I would recommend it to anyone with small children.

Bought for small great nephew after finding Mudpuppy puzzle at TKMax. Fun illustration, well packaged in sturdy box with rope handle. Good sized pieces and very colourful.
