Works great. It is loud but I enjoy the soft ice so much that it doesn’t bother me. The ice comes out quick. It is a little wet but after it is in my freezer it breaks up quite easily.

After a small flood in our house thanks to our refrigerator water line leaking and destroying the laminate floor, we decided to disconnect the water supply to the refrigerator permanently and purchased and installed a water filtration system and faucet in the kitchen sink as well as purchased this ice maker to replace the ice from the refrigerator. First, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before making ice. The machine needs to sit for an hour or so to let the refrigerant settle again after being shaken around and turned over. Second, use good clean water and clean the insides of the ice maker before use and periodically to avoid any nasty surprises. Third, remember this is NOT A FREEZER! Once you get the machine up and running you will notice that the ice will stay solid in the tray but since this is not a freezer you should periodically transfer it to your freezer or it WILL melt in your machine. Fourth, there are two options for ice cube sizes. The small ice cubes are just a waste of time. They are so tiny that they will melt very quickly if not transferred immediately to your freezer. I will only make the large ice cubes that seem to be a great size. Fifth, you should understand that when you transfer the ice to your freezer it will likely be wet and once it starts to really freeze and harden in your freezer it is likely going to turn into one giant ice cube. (see photo). Fortunately, most ice makers in refrigerators have the breaker bar to either crush or just break up the ice as it dispenses. This seems to work just fine for our purposes. This machine has several great functions to prolong it's life. It will automatically shut off when the ice tray gets full. It will also automatically shut off if it runs out of water. You need to realize that this machine only makes a few cups of ice before reaching it's capacity. I had it running for a full day and constantly moved the ice to my freezer just to fill the ice bucket in my freezer. My wife doesn't use ice and I only use it to make iced tea and my breakfast smoothies so 1 full day of making ice only lasts me about two full days before I start the process over. This would never work if we had kids or anyone else in the house that uses ice regularly. All in all a pretty good machine and I've had no problems with it but this should be considered an "accessory" and NOT your primary source for ice. This would be handy to have when you have company over and need just a little more ice than your regular freezer/refrigerator can keep up with.

I bought this ice maker because it got great reviews on Consumer Reports as a good one without breaking the bank. So, I figured, let's try it! I got it as a replacement for the regular ice trays you carry back and forth from faucet to freezer. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this machine. The ice taste, texture, and frequency it makes is great. My only gripe is that once the basket is full, you have to move it to your freezer. The problem with that is that it's semi-melted already. So, you're going to have to make multiple trips to the freezer to drop off new ice. At that same time, I'd highly recommend jiggling the ice that's already made otherwise it'll become a big ole clump! Then you have to hack it with a knife. What I've figured out to do is, every time a new batch is made to transfer to my freezer, I jumble the ice that's already made and then add the new ice on top. Sounds ridiculous but it's not a big deal in the scheme of things. Other than that, I think it's a great, reliable ice machine.

"I'm in love. I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!" (Elf) But this could tell you how I feel about my ice maker. I purchased a Consumer Reports subscription, just so I could see their recommendation/review of top-rated ice makers. Well, I am still impressed with the quality AND the cubes, a month or more later. At first I was nervous, because I didn't know how long it would take to make ice, but I had to be patient, and it is really not that long of a wait. I make enough ice for a couple of days and fill up the container in our freezer. I no longer use the ice maker in our fridge and WILL NOT get it fixed because of my "new best friend." These ice makers ARE the solution when one's fridge ice-maker goes out, and THAT is a costly repair. We've had to install two ice makers so far and luckily, my husband installed the last one about three years ago. Now, no more need because of my Vivo Home ice maker. For some weird reason, I cannot add photos. I will try to do so later.
