From both the Amazon description and the product label someone can get the impression that these are just venison sticks, however they also contain beef. As for what percentage is beef, who knows but they still contain beef. I understand what they mean that it is made with "100% grass fed venison" (the venison ate nothing but grass), but I still think some consumers might feel misinformed. Anyway, I still thought this meat stick tasted very good. It was moist which I like a meat stick to be. I've had other meat sticks made from venison which were really dry almost to the point of being unenjoyable. I also thought the spice mix was tasty without being overpowering. One stick is only 50 calories with 7 grams of protein, and as a bonus no fake nitrites/nitrates. Perfect little take along snack. I do wish they made the package a little easier to open though. They had a "Pull Here to Open" marking on the package, but I still had a difficult time figuring out what I was to pull. First world problem.🤷

I travel a lot for work, and am always looking for shelf stable ways to keep protein available in my bag, so these Paleovalley 100% Grass Fed Venison Sticks – 10 Pack – Keto-Friendly, High Protein, Low-Calorie Snacks looked perfect. The outer bag says BB031726, so I assume that they are supposed to last until March 2026 (I received them April 2025).The venison sticks themselves are a good thickness (about the diameter of my ring finger) and 1oz each. They are made with both venison and beef but the venison flavor comes through clearly. They are a little softer and less toothy than many of the other meat sticks I have tried. I appreciate the simplicity of the ingredient list and I find these tasty--I"m looking forward to adding these to my on-the-go snack rotation. Recommend.

As someone whose dad occasionally hunts deer, I ate a lot of venison growing up. While I know some people don't like the gamey taste, it is something I crave and really enjoy from time to time. These sticks have a delicious venison flavor with a hint of peppery spice. The sticks are very moist and chewy -- not at all dry like many sticks tend to be. While they do contain some amount of beef, the resulting flavor makes it pretty obvious that the majority of each stick is comprised of venison. I appreciate that these do not contain nitrates. I'm also shocked by their expiration date which is nearly 11 months out from the time of my purchase, giving me plenty of time to finish these off before they expire. These would make great stocking stuffers or treats to pack in your lunch! Five stars.

In the world of meat sticks these are not bad at all, a little trouble opening the pouches, they clearly are supposed to fan apart and split when you pull opposite sides like almost every other meet stick but that wasn't the case with the ones I got, I had to resort to scissors to open them up... Putting that aside, they are not overly greasy like some meat sticks, they still have their share of grease but its not overbearing... They do have a different flavor than 'beef' sticks and some people will like that, others won't... Venison has a distinct flavor that some like, others don't....BUT, do note that these are not pure venison, the primary ingredient is in fact venison, followed by water, then beef, so it's anyone's guess what percentage is actually venison...

These venison meat sticks hit the spot if you want a high protein snack. They are kind of chewy, but not in a bad way. They taste really good to me. They aren't super spicy, nor do they have that very strong cured taste. The one thing I will say is that the individual wrappers are incredibly hard to open! I have not yet succeeded in opening a single one using the instructions (peel apart 2 layers). I have had to get scissors every time. The 2 layers in the packaging I have are completely glued together and cannot be picked apart at the end.

The taste is fantastic, and the list of ingredients is even better! Nothing artificial in the list, and surprisingly low sodium for cured meat. Tastes for the most part just like a beef stick, so if you like those, you'll like these as well.

I don’t really eat meat-sticks, but my husband and sons do, so I thought I’d order these for them. Some of the pros, they are made with grass-fed meat, which is always a plus. My boys report that they are tasty, if a little gamey, but nothing that is off-putting or unexpected if you’re used to the taste of venison. Another pro is that they aren’t greasy, which is something none of my boys like in meat-sticks. One of the biggest pros from my perspective is that they are made with healthy ingredients; there are no nitrates, seed oils, antibiotics, hormones, and honestly the list goes on. I feel much better about them eating these than some of the other products on the market. The individual packages can be a little difficult to open, and my kids report having to use scissors to open them, but that isn’t too big of a quibble. They are a bit pricey, but when it comes to food quality, you get what you pay for.

We try just about every type and flavor of jerky and meat sticks so we knew we had to try these. Not sure how ours were different from the others as these meat sticks were very oily and greasy. The flavor was kind of “off” and was extremely salty with no other flavors. Tried a few more and it was only getting worse.We tend to really enjoy venison and beef sticks but I’m not sure what these sticks are supposed to be. Maybe they went bad in transit as it was sent in a sealed transparent bag.
