Fat Cat Tirade MMXI Foosball/Soccer Game Table

When the box arrived it had (in retrospect) some additional clear "packing" tape on it. It was a Christmas present for our boys so we wrapped it and put it under (well, behind) the tree. We left right after Christmas on vacation and didn't put it together until the first week of January. When I opened the box the styrofoam packing was disintegrating and a few of the parts were "beat up". I laid out all of the parts and realized there were some screws and a part (one of the "F" brackets) missing and found it already installed. The bracket was broken but still functional. It seems obvious (to me) that someone had tried to put it together, gave up and then returned it. I believe it was reshipped with no attention paid to its condition. I called the manufacturer and got a VM that said I would get a return phone call within 48 hours. I'm still waiting for a call back. I went ahead and assembled the table. When we tried to play, I realized that the "F" bracket position was so far off that the "plaryers" on one of the player bars was hitting the playing surface. I disassembled the table, repositioned the "F" bracket and out it back together. I also added some support spacers on each of the corners (hard to explain) so it will stay together in a more square position and with less stress. I now know why people spend more money for a foosball table. This one is just OK but is basically pressed cardboard, pressed wood/OSB and plastic. I categorize it under the heading, "You get what you pay for!"

We bought this table because after comparing the cheaper and more expensive tables, this was right in the middle and offered everything we wanted. It wasn't too difficult for me and my husband to put together, but did require carefully reading the directions. The players go in very specific directions (there is a back and front side to the players) so make sure you pay close attention to that when you start laying them out and getting them ready to put in. Make sure you tighten the bolts on the feet all the way into the nuts on the feet, and then tighten the bolt halfway into the leg. When installing the plastic ball return, screw the goal side in first.The continuous play feature has been great! The ball has jumped over the players' heads a few times which has made it exciting, but they haven't flown so high to actually leave the table, yet. So that's good. Overall it is a great height, it is large, and it looks perfect in our game room and we are confident it will withstand years of abuse from both the children and us!The only reason we gave it 4/5 stars is because of the issues we had the CEVA Logistics during shipping. We originally placed the order on 7/3/13 with Prime. Noting that there was both a holiday & weekend coming up, and the fact that due to item being so big, it may take an additional "1-3" days, the tracking information stated that we could expect it to be delivered between the 5-9th. As we continued to track the package, it changed to a delivery estimate of the 12th. On the 11th, we checked tracking info and there was a message that CEVA Logisitics had contacted us to arrange delivery for the 12th. However, we were never contacted at all. Seeing this, I called CEVA and spoke to one operator that said she would leave a message for them regarding the delivery for the next day. At 6:55 am on the 12th, I received a voicemail from a different woman at CEVA saying that they got my message and the driver was going to leave soon but if I called back right away, they may be able to get a delivery scheduled for that day. I called back in less than 10 minutes and had to leave a message with another person about the whole thing. She said she would get a message to them. 2 hours later I received a call and was given a delivery window of 11 am-3pm for that day. This happened to not be an issue since I was not working that day and was planning on being home. By 4:30 pm when no delivery had come yet, I called CEVA back again. I spoke to a man this time that put me hold for 5+ minutes before returning to tell me that he wasn't sure what was happening and that he would have to call the driver and get back to me. At 5:45 pm, I got a call that said the driver would be here within 30 minutes. So, at 6:25 pm, 3 1/2 hours AFTER the delivery window had closed, it finally got delivered. When we asked the driver what happened, he said they were "overworked and understaffed" and that they "thought it was on a truck already and spent an hour looking for it". Had I not been diligent about calling and following up, we probably still wouldn't have the table. So the table itself is fabulous, but the delivery through CEVA was a pain.

The table has a nice weight to it and it doesn`t look like it belongs at Chuck E. Cheese`s. The wave design is great, it keeps the ball moving and in play. All the folks I`ve had over to play foosball really like the curved "backsplash". It comes with blocking plates that convert it into a regular foosball table if your not up for the fast pace curve effect. The detail about the players colors may be unclear but the picture shows the true representation which is the classic chess player black and ivory. All in all a great foosball table that I would buy again.

We bought this for our kids as a Christmas gift and it seems really sturdy. It was larger than I expected and won't fit it the kid's bedroom. Fortunately, it looks quite good in our Greatroom and adults are using it as well as the kids. I think it actually looks more expensive than it actually was. No shipping problems, no damage, and my husband built it fairly easily I think, but he's pretty handy. We are happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

I shopped at our local Sporting Goods Stores and a foosball table for my 9 & 11 yr. old Grandsons for Christmas was out of the question, then my son told me to look on Amazon! After reading several reviews we choose the Tirade. It took my Husband and Daughter 2 hrs. to put it together, they read through the directions prior to assembly and they did great!My Grandsons couldn't believe they got a foosball table for the loft playroom in their new home!! What a BANG for my BUCK!!DC

The kids like it. The poles seem to be a little bent but are usable. The weekly tournaments can begin!!
