BEST GRASS ALTERNATIVE FOR LAWN
I’m so glad I tried O.M. Scott and Sons Clover Seed! Within just a few weeks, I started to see lush, healthy clover filling in bare spots and creating a rich green carpet across my yard. It grows quickly, looks fantastic, and truly lives up to its low-maintenance and drought-tolerant promise. I love that it stays green even in dry weather, and it doesn’t require nearly as much mowing or watering as traditional grass. Plus, the clover helps improve soil health naturally—so it’s not only beautiful but also eco-friendly. If you want a thick, resilient, and sustainable lawn without all the extra work, this seed mix is a perfect choice. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to go greener—literally and environmentally!

I’m now a farmer thanks to these seeds
About 90% of the seed germinated and grew up to full size. The texture (as Amazon yearns for me to describe the texture) is remarkably clover-like once it’s grown up. In seed form it is what I’d describe as “seedy”. Soaks up excess moisture from the rain, helps the grass grow, and was a good enough price for my cheap self to buy it and go “yeah that seems fair enough”.

So green!!
Germination time took about 1 1/2 to see some growth in my yard. My fiancé put clove patches around our yard where the grass wasn’t growing and we also made a huge patch because the dogs like to lay in it. It’s very soft. Doesn’t grow as high but it can. Don’t over put to much.

So so
Starts fast but dies back quickly. Only about half survive to maturity.

Promising... I guess? If you enjoy suspense gardening.
I bought the O.M. Scott and Sons Clover Seed because I was sold on the dream: low maintenance, drought-tolerant, eco-friendly, practically mows itself while paying your taxes. Amazing! So I lovingly scattered this magical green fairy dust across my lawn like a suburban Johnny Appleseed. Watered it. Whispered sweet encouragements. Waited. And… yeah. Still waiting. Did it work? Maybe. Do I have clover growing? Possibly. Is it just a bunch of enthusiastic weeds pretending to be clover to boost my self-esteem? Almost certainly. Pros: Comes in a bag. That’s a strong start. Spreads easily. I am now emotionally AND literally invested all over my yard. The idea of it is fantastic—like the Pinterest version of lawn care. Cons: Germination progress is currently classified as a “mystery thriller.” My neighbor’s dog peed on it, which might be the most action it’s seen. Starting to suspect this seed is just playing hard to get. To be fair, maybe it takes time. Maybe the clover is working underground, silently plotting its beautiful, green, drought-resistant takeover. Or maybe I just bought a bag of hope and delusion. Who’s to say? For now, 3 stars—for potential. If anything actually grows, I’ll come back and revise this review from “skeptical gardening comedy” to “miracle lawn gospel.”

Amazing Difference
Picked this seed up for 2 fold...to help w brown pee spots in our yard from our 2 dogs as well as to provide food for wild rabbits in our neighborhood. Great germination rate...seeded the area w the clover then top dressed the grass (we have bermuda) with composted manure. Kept it nicely watered and after 3 to 4 days germination rate was gang busters. While not really a fan of the germinated clover, it has like a waxy feel to them under foot...once the mature clover leaves sprouted out the texture was better (but still a bit waxy). As to pee spots, really impressed. Without the clover, our bermuda would easily have pee spots after a few days...with the clover very minimal to no pee spots as the yard is a much more resilient green. I would say the best part is the frequency of rabbits in the yard now! Quite honestly on a daily basis we have at least 1-4 rabbits in the yard munching away...absolutely love it. If you are considering a microclover yard this seed is for you!

Had 0% germination
I followed the directions exactly, even using a manual tiller on my lawn to get the seed better contact with the ground. I watered every day, and never saw any germination or growth (and there were no freezes or severe storms to wash the seed away during that time, so I can't put any blame on the weather). I waited to see if any of it may have gotten established to grow this year, and nada. My clover lawn is still just a distant dream, and now I'm out what I spent for it.
