I'm using this lava rock as a bio media in my aquarium canister filters. the 3/8 inch lava rock come pretty much crushed and provide loads of surface area for benificial bacteria. so far I'm pleased.

Very nice rock and color but would consider this rock size and tiny not small. Product was smaller than pictures and size perceived

Please be careful of this product. One third of the bag was fine red dust, however more important...when we lit the gas fireplace, after around 5 minutes there were two quick popping sounds and small pieces of the rock exploded. Fortunately, no one was injured, however it was dangerous non the less.

These were just "Ok".... a LOT of crumbs and not so many larger rocks. Kind of disappointed.
