Works as expected.
Great USB drive was hoping that I could charge my phone with this at the same time of using it but to bad so sad. Small easy to loose, put it down and if I cover it and push what ever I covered it with and not pay attention I have a hard time finding it. My desk is messy. It does feel like it can take some hat of a beating so it is pretty durable. Write and read speed is good although I haven't measured it so it functions good. I mainly use it to watch movies I have.

The Ultimate USB Drive for Modern Devices
SanDisk’s 512GB Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C Flash Drive (SDDDC3-512G-GAM46) is an impressively versatile, high-capacity flash drive that has greatly enhanced day-to-day data management and device connectivity. This in-depth review covers real-world usability, speed, durability, and features, making it an essential guide for anyone considering this dual connector drive. The most notable advantage is the dual connectors—USB-A and USB-C—which allow for seamless file transfers between legacy and cutting-edge devices. This flexibility makes it ideal for working with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. No need for adapters, and switching between devices is as simple as flipping the drive’s cover. It’s especially useful for consolidating files or backing up media on the go, making transitions between work and personal devices absolutely hassle-free. With its 512GB capacity, the Ultra Dual Drive Go wipes out storage anxiety. It easily stores entire photo libraries, massive video files (including 4K and 8K footage), and countless documents or software installers. While the advertised read speed hits up to 400MB/s (USB 3.1), and typical transfer rates are fast and reliable for everyday use, some users note that sustained large writes (like transferring several 100GB videos) may cause the device to heat up and throttle speeds. Nevertheless, moves like a 160GB file in under 3 minutes show it’s more than competitive among similarly-priced drives. It’s not engineered for specialized pro-level tasks (such as direct ProRes video recording on premium smartphones), but for most consumer needs, performance is more than satisfactory. The sturdy swivel design both protects the connectors and makes the drive highly portable—perfect for pockets, bags, and busy schedules. The keyring hole offers extra convenience, and the compact form factor is praised for ease of use and daily carry. Notably, this isn’t a fragile accessory; the robust build feels solid and holds up well to constant handling. Setting up and using the Ultra Dual Drive Go is a breeze. Plug-and-play compatibility ensures immediate file access, while advanced users can enjoy features like automatic photo backups through SanDisk’s Memory Zone app on supported Android devices. Whether managing files between a USB-C smartphone and USB-A laptop or freeing up storage on-the-fly, it consistently delivers a smooth experience.

Enjoying full transfer speeds on both interfaces without adapters is good.
Can't recommend it enough. Plug and play, small, being able to enjoy full speed transfers in USB-C or USB-A without losing speed through an adapter. Just great. Also, having 128GB is almost like an external SSD for a way lower price. I highly recommend this.

Almost perfect
So far, I've been loving this drives speed and capacity. However, performance has been lacking as i noticed it disconnects rather frequently when used with my tablet and phone. Will updte when/if i find a fix but so far, Not deserving of a 5 star review. Update: Comparing this to other drives. It's slow. Annoyingly so. Writing to it literally takes about 2 minutes before even a small piece of the loading bar comes up. Even reading files takes a while. 🤦🏽♂️ Update 2: So I double checked the specs of my laptop just to make sure I'm not crazy. Confirmed the laptop has 2x USB Type C-3.2 Gen 1 ports and the drive is also USB Type C-3.2 Gen 1 and I have never seen this drive even get close to the advertised speeds. Extremely Disappointing! Update 3: I've found that the frequent disconnecting issue was a result of user error. Quick and to the point, Don't have your device in battery saver mode. I've had no issues with connectivity after finding this out. While the older 128gb sandisk pendrive i had didn't have the same issue this one has. I still prefer this as it doesnt get as hot as the older drive while having 4x the storage and slightly (albeit still slow) faster speeds. Worth it!

Best Dual Drive USB on the Market (on a budget)
Amazing that 1tb can fit on such a small device. If you’re looking for a device to transfer any amount of files between many different kinds of devices, this is your item. The best dual drive usb stick I’ve ever purchased. Great for storing/transferring large chunks amounts of data between different kinds of devices. Purchase less than 1tb for personal use as the read/write speed isn’t so great for copying say an entire computer’s hard drive.

I’ve used sandisk & many other brands in the past, & this one is it!!!
I bought this item close to a year ago. Opened it and just let it sit since then. For some reason I have it in my mind that I couldn’t get this to work with the app due to the type of phone I have. Well, I just bought another flash drive that was faulty, and happened to stumble upon this in my purchase history. I decided to look into it further and realized that for an iPhone 15 you just need to transfer through the files app on your phone. I decided to try it last night, and was pleasantly surprised it worked. In fact I was able to download over 5100 picture and video files within 45-60 minutes lat night. I ended up working on transferring more today, and I have almost all 22,000 picture and video files transferred. With any other flash drive I’ve had in the past, it would’ve taken hours just to transfer a few hundred pictures at a time. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I did run into an issue that I’m not sure about, but all afternoon after selecting a thousand or so files it would alert me that I couldn’t continue with the transfer. I would attempt to make the transfer smaller each time and it would rarely work. On occasion it would eventually work when I only had a few pics selected. But the odd part is that a lot of those files actually did transfer once I plugged the drive into my computer. So I’m still not sure the reasoning on this. If anyone has an answer I’d love to know it! I’m notorious for never having space for taking photos on my phone, which has a 256 GB memory, so I’m super thrilled to finally get these transferred in a timely manner. Highly recommend. I will continue to buy more in multiple colors to help organize timeline.

Fast and functional
No issues so far, Crystal Disk proves it's the fastest USB drive I've ever owned. Personally, I setup Windows 11 portable on the drive and designated it as the boot drive. It boots quickly and loads programs (seemingly) just as fast as an internal SSD.

Not what I expected
It’s that time of year again when the new iphone is introduced and like a lemming I placed my order withing seconds and now I just got one of the first batch, the new pro max model. While I admire the convenience of just saying yes a few times and having the new phone replicate everything in my old one, which is being traded in, this year is a little different. It has some major changes to the operating system and I decided to start fresh with the tedious task of reinstalling everything. That task can have its dangers though and I’ve spent all morning trying to do a backup to my Macbook and it didn’t go well. So backing up to an external drive seemed even safer, if it worked as I hoped. WHY SANDISK As soon as I started shopping my eyes started to glaze over, there were pages and pages of thumb drives and for some inexplicable reason most of them still had lightning connectors, which means I would have to use a chancy adapter. I don’t get it, we are at least a couple of generations removed from that now obsolete connector and companies are still selling drives at full price. Then I saw this one from SanDisk and I thought my search was over. This is a brand I have trusted for years and the first thing that caught my attention was that it has the now standard USB-C connector as well as the universal USB-A connector. As my cloud backup is only 8GB I chose one of the smallest sizes I could get, based primarily on the fact that I could get it the same day so I can do my back and start using my new phone. DOES IT WORK This question has to be either yes or no, it either does the job or it doesn’t. So as soon as it arrived I plugged it in. There’s no need to get into techie specs with something like this, in today’s world there rarely is such a thing as slow. Another thing we expect in today’s world is for something to do the job it was purchased for. On one hand, if judged simply as a thumb drive this one is okay – slightly overpriced and slightly cheesy construction. On the other hand they heavily promote this as a simple plug-in backup device for smartphones. What they don’t make clear is they don’t mean all smartphones. This is clearly intended more for the Android crowd and that’s the biggest strike against it – if plugged in to a current iphone it does absolutely nothing (in terms of self-running a useful backup app). In the tiniest font possible on the back of the hanger card they tell you, after you’ve already bought the product and brought it home, that it may not be compatible will all devices and they give you a website. Unfortunately that link is broken. By now it is clear that this is not what I expected. So I searched their website, which is actually Western Digital’s website, and deeply buried in there (it took about 10 minutes to unearth it) behind a lot of conflicting information I finally learned that to use with an iphone I have to manually locate the Files folder and drag those to the SanDisk … but not all files are located there, it takes a separate task to locate and save photographs, that still leaves some files that I would like backed up. In their FAQ tools they seem to make it clear that this really isn’t a backup drive for an iPhone after all. It sounded too good to be true. YES NO MAYBE I’m splitting my opinion two ways on this. On one hand it is a decent generic flash drive from a company with a good reputation. On the other hand it is basically useless as a plug and play solution to easily backup my Apple phone. Additionally I would like to see a bit more rugged enclosure. The plastic reminds me of the cheap flash drives they give away for free at carnivals and trade shows and does not give me confidence that my data is protected against physical damage. The balance of all that results in a score of three for average, not bad for some uses and not so good for others.
