Every Parent Should Read
** IMPORTANT **If you are a parent and have kids under the age of 10, this is a must have product. Isn't it strange that everytime there is some kind of mishap or accident, nobody knows anything, or "I didn't do it" is the only thing they can say... like the remote control battery cover is gone, and the batteries are not only in backwards, but they're dead. Or my screwdrivers are all bent and my hammer has vanished... again, "I didn't do it..." blah, blah, blah, well let me share a little secret with every parent out there. The next time something happens and you feel like you need some answers, round all the kids up regardless of how many you have (this works especially well if the kids have friends over and you include them as well) make them all sit down in front of you. Now ask what ever you want to know... the moment you hear, "I don't know... I didn't do it" simply say: "STOP" tell the oldest child in the group to come to you and then, ZAAAAPPPPP EM right on the neck with this Vipertek VTS-T03... Folks, let me tell you this-- while that one is flopping around on the floor, with eyes rolled back and unconscious from the shock, the others suddenly become news reporters giving you details and timelines of the event you're inquiring about, one of the neighbors kids will pull out his or her cell phone and begin showing you pictures and video of the mishap. I've found this to be one of the most effective tools at not only getting information from my kids and their friends, but for preventing future "accidents or mishaps" especially involving my personal tools and treasures. (Wink to all the dads)I am totally joking... I don't even have kids. But this Vipertek can't be beat for the price. I hope I never have to use it... well except for that red neck laser tag competition coming up next weekend. I'm thinking this thing is gonna take laser tag to a whole new level.

Product is great, the holster….
The actual product itself is great . It’s light weight and the sound alone would deter an attacker . The flashlight is actually super bright as well .The inky reason I can’t give this 5 stars is the holster . It’s easy enough to pull out of the holster , but you can’t just slide it back in . You have to kind of stretch the opening to shimmy it into the holster . Which is a shame because I need to be able to easily access the flashlight and put it back for my job.Quick update: after using the holster at work for not even 2 hours, the holster broke . The belt loop snapped .Guys, just don’t use the holster .

Great value!
I purchased this as a replacement for a previous ViperTec model that I had since 2020 that finally stopped charging. Got 4 years outta the previous one so I think that's great value for the buck. They changed the charger port and that's great but wish they used a USB - C port. Better than the old style regardless.

Be careful with this...
One night I forgot which way to push the light on and was afraid I was going to shock myself if I put it in my pocket, I take it with me when I walk my dog and at night when she needs to go out and do her business. Too many dog attacks in the area so this will take the edge off of being out there.

Simple operation, inconspicuous, poor ease of recharging
I wanted a stun gun + flashlight with a very bright light, and ordered these for comparison:1. This product, "Vipertek VTS-T03" (claims 350 lumens)2. "Ruger Tactical Stun Gun" (claims 300 lumens)SUMMARY:Try the Vipertek if you want it lighter, less conspicuous, easier controls, and less recharging.Try the Ruger if you want a better flashlight, better stun contacts, and more safety features.-----------------------THIS PRODUCT, VIPERTEK VTS-T03This unit seems solidly built. Includes a wrist strap, and a cheap belt holster. The controls are (1) a 3-mode switch on the side (off, flashlight, stun), (2) the Stun trigger button on the opposite side. The controls are easy to operate. The photos are accurate. It looks very much like an ordinary flashlight, unless you look closely. That can be good or bad for you.The flashlight is not adjustable. It's focused in a narrow beam with a dim outer circle.Pros:* Comes in a nice storage box.* Simple operation, minimalist controls.* Marginally superior grip (compared to the Ruger)* Marginally lighter than the Ruger.Cons:* The stun contacts are slightly recessed from the end (by at least a couple of millimeters) so to make it work I think you'd have to press it pretty firmly into a soft body.* The charger doesn't shut off automatically; the instructions warn that overcharging may damage the unit. You're instructed to recharge 1-2 hours per month, but it's not clear what the charging time should be if you've used the unit vs. not used it.* The battery can't be replaced. (So if your battery is dead, you can't just do a quick switch, you'll have to charge it for a few hours.)* Requires recharging once a month. (But this is better than the Ruger which asks to be charged weekly.)* When you switch to the Stun mode, in preparation for your attack, the flashlight goes off. This means you're in darkness while making your thrust. (Both models have this problem.)* The hand strap is attached with a very thin string that will probably break under pressure.------------------------RUGER TACTICAL STUN GUNThe front end had a tiny little bit of wiggle, so not sure how solidly built it is. Includes a metal clip, a wrist strap, and a cheap belt holster. The photos are accurate; the design seems a little clunky to me, not elegant. The controls are (1) a 3-mode switch on the side (off, flashlight, stun), (2) the Stun trigger button on the opposite side, (3) a safety switch on the end. The controls are easy to operate.Pros:* Has a safety switch.* The flashlight focus is excellent! Twist the red band to smoothly zoom from a small dot to a wide disk. For medium to wide settings, the disk is evenly lit all the way across.* Has bright, dim, and flashing modes. The flashing mode definitely makes it very hard for an attacker to look at you!* The stun contacts extend slightly beyond the end of the flashlight (about a millimeter), in contrast to the Vipertek where they are recessed.* Another safety benefit, the design (red band, and spiky-looking at the top) makes it less likely that a family member will mistake it for an ordinary flashlight.* The bottom end has some slots where you might attach a more substantial band.Cons:* The three modes of the flashlight (bright, dim, and bright-flashing) are accessed by repeatedly turning the flashlight on and off. Each time you turn it on --- or flip past the flashlight feature while enabling the Stun feature --- it cycles to a different mode. The result is you're always unsure which mode you'll get!!! The flashlight modes should have been a separate switch.* The instructions say to recharge once a week for 4 to 5 hours!!!! This seems really excessive and inconvenient. It's not clear what the charging time should be if you've used the unit vs. not used it.* The instructions don't clarify whether it's OK to leave the charger plugged in all the time, or whether you have to unplug the charger to avoid overcharging.* Marginally heavier than the Vipertek (7.5 oz vs. 6.25 oz)* The battery can't be replaced. (So if your battery is dead, you can't just do a quick switch, you'll have to charge it for a few hours.)* The safety switch can be a drawback, if you forget to switch it on. It's labelled black-on-black, so it can be hard to tell.* When you switch to the Stun mode, in preparation for your attack, the flashlight goes off. This means you're in darkness while making your thrust. (Both models have this problem.)* The hand strap is attached with a very thin string that will probably break under pressure.* The metal clip isn't very comfortable while holding the unit (and makes it harder to feel where the switch and trigger are). I removed the clip.
