Bought this out of sheer urgent necessity and Amazon delivered it the very next day. The lens is small and light but packs a huge punch. To many, 30mm may sound like a grey area between the more common 35mm and 24/28 mm. But in my use, I found this lens to be amazing in regular light as well as low light scenarios. There is very little focus hunting and breathing and I found the images to be acceptably sharp in the corners. Chromatic aberration is also very well controlled in high contrast situations. The f1.4 aperture produces great portrait images with fantastic background separation. Very happy with the purchase. I only wish that Sigma had included a good lens pouch with this lens, but no love lost here.

I’m using the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN on my Canon R50 (APS-C, RF mount) and it’s quickly become one of my favorite lenses. The 48.2° angle of view feels natural and works well for portraits, travel, and everyday use. The ultra-fast f/1.4 aperture creates stunning background separation, and the bokeh is smooth and creamy thanks to the 9-blade rounded diaphragm. The lens produces crisp, vibrant images and feels solid despite being small and lightweight. The 52mm filter thread is convenient, and the compact size makes it perfect for travel or street photography. The only drawback is the lack of image stabilization, but that’s also what keeps it so light and portable. For video, I’d suggest using a tripod or gimbal. Overall, this is a fantastic prime lens that delivers sharpness, beautiful bokeh, and excellent value for Canon R-series APS-C users.

Writing this review after using it with my canon r10 for almost a month now. Works well in low light conditions. Focus is a bit slow but manageable. I liked the lens, as there's a huge difference between kit lens and this one. You will be happy after getting it. I' d tried uploading sample images taken from this lens but amazon didn't allowed to post them due to some policy violation. Go for it.
