Excellent upgrade
Upgraded from T300rs gt. This is night and day. Much more feeling of the road and understeer. The pedals are also much more precise while requiring less force.

Dissapointing
It is disappointing to not be writing a glowing review for this wheel. The latest Axial drive tech etc all reads well but unfortunately does not translate to an acceptable experience - "in my case". A total newbie may very well be happy, not having any experience of a force feedback wheel before. But, I would suggest that anyone who's used a wheel already, even the cheapest of setups, will be very disappointed with this Thrustmaster. I will give it a couple of weeks to prove itself but I am fairly sure I will be returning it because it literally does not work.It arrives in packaging, it's easy to assemble, it's easy to connect but that is the end of the easy stuff.Firstly the software checks for updates then alerts you to the need to update firmware. Then you grind to halt when Thrustmasters' system fails, leaving you "dead in the water." The system is not able to update and just crashes/hangs. You try again and round and round in circles you go. An extremely poor introduction to the latest new product tech from Thrustmaster. Their shiny new thing does not work right from the word go! There is no help. Thrustmasters' website is very poorly maintained. Eventually, I found help via reddit from several other users with exactly the same issue. Why has Thrustmaster not done anything about it? Why is there no mention on their website about it?So, getting the system all updated and ready to play introduces the next level of disappointment. The very weak lack lustre feedback that is at times almost completely devoid of any feedback at all. On the highest possible output settings this wheel still does not get anywhere near the level of high detailed feedback of my Cammus C5. I don't mean a rock solid wheel that only a body builder can turn, I mean a realistic feeling wheel. I would suggest that my old Logitech G29 and maybe even my older G27 would feel better.Thrustmasters system uses a tiny weenie display in the steering wheel to access menu settings. There are no settings available via software on the PC. So for PC users this makes the wheel very difficult to setup. As an example I changed a strength setting whilst in a game and the effect was to destroy all steering completely until rebooting everything. The system probably works fine for a Playstation but is absolutely not fit for purpose on a pc.So assuming you have not given up yet with all the frustrating stuff that Thrustmaster should have fixed before releasing this wheel to the public, you give it a try only to discover there is no feedback at all. This is due to the wheel being shipped in a mode that is a bit of a safety mode, but no one tells you this. No instructions, no labels, nothing at all. So, after another browse through reddit you find answers and give the suggestions a try. After a lot of messing about you can eventually get some kind of psudo feedback but it never feels realistic and is always missing most of the detail. I can not emphasise enough how bad this is. At times there is nothing more than a fake centre spring action in effect and no actual feedback at all. None of the daft pre-programmed profiles make the wheel feel realistic. I have not managed as yet to get the wheel to feel realistic in anything. Ac,Acc,AcEvo,Forza Motorsport,BeamNG - not possible to make the wheel feel realistic in any of those games/sims.At this price point the wheel must perform. There is no excuse to releasing a +£400 product that does not and can not work as expected. Far far cheaper belt drive systems offer way better experiences than this. Oh, and I haven't mentioned the actual wheel rim!The wheel rim is cheap to the point of also being not fit for purpose. The nasty cheap uncovered plastic of the front and back halves of the wheel rim come together to form a palm injuring seam. Where the two halves join together caught the skin of my hand and pinched it. Again, totally unacceptable especially when spending over £400.It's sad to say but I believe this is indicative of industry today. When was the last time any one bought anything that actually worked?

Brilliant fun
This is my first racing wheel so I'm not able to compare it to the competition.Set up was a complete nightmare. Updating the software involved using a pc instead of my ps5. Also attaching the wheel to a racing stand involved drilling new holes for both the wheel and pedals. The GT omega definitely doesn't line up and to my understanding it won't fit Next Level racing stands either.Once set up on a GT omega apex stand it has been great and my racing games are so much more enjoyable. Several online reviews said that 5nm isn't powerful enough but to me it feels good and it has given me some idea how much grip I have left although I'm still learning how to interpret everything. The steering wheel itself feels very cheap. There are upgrades available but I'm not sure if it's worth the half the cost of the package itself to upgrade. The pedals are great with lots of resistance options but don't come with load cell. Judging by Thrustmasters failure to deliver promised upgrade rims for it's Evo wheel, I won't hold my breath for thier promised pedal upgrade.Despite the negatives, I am delighted with this setup and it's now the only way I want to play my racing games.

What a disappointment.
Bought this because already have tgt2 but even though I've updated all firmware it doesn't recognise my Farrari 488 wheel.I rate the tgt2 better than this. Also had ffb drop after a hour and half of using.

It is a really good wheel
I think the first batch released might have had some issues. The wheel kept disconnecting from the PS5, and the throttle would randomly stop working. I returned it and bought a replacement. The new one has no issues at all and is performing very well. The force feedback is much better than it was on my old TX wheel. If it weren't for the initial problems, I would have given it 5 stars.

Great price and a solid bit of kit.
Coming from the TGT2 and the TLCM pedals the T598 is worth the upgrade to me, the is a lot more detail with the T598b over the TGT2 and it is so much smoother. Regarding power the 5nm is good enough and it does have the 50% over boost function as well as gear shift jolt which all feels very nice. The display on the wheel base is very useful for settings on the fly as well as race info. The quick release is a much needed and big improvement i am using the 32R rim with the T598 and had no issues with it. firmware update can be a bit finicky but not that much of an issue (pc req). On to the mounting i run a SimLabs aluminum profile rig and the pedals lined up on the pedal tray with the pre drilled slots and also the wheel base lined up with the wheel deck with no additional drilling required.Overall very happy with it plenty of adjustment in the pedals and once the load cell upgrade is released that will complete the package but with that said the brake pedal as shipped is very good with the silver/stronger spring.I still have the TGT2 and the TLCM but i will be sticking with the T598.
