A PWM dimming controller should work. They connect between your power adapter and the LED strip, and usually operate by remote control. You can control dimming from your power switch with a "power switch remote" PWM dimming controller, such as Amazon ASIN B01MXR0HOT. Other models are available with wireless remotes.

Does this charger work for cisco dx80?

This charger has the right output power 12volt 5amp needed for the Cisco dx80, but not sure if the plug is compatible. Diameter outside and inside hole to lug into the dx80.

How do i connect the led strip directly to a lamp cable for the roof?Like if it was a normal reccesed spot light to turn it on/off with a wall switch?

This strip runs on 12 V DC. In the US, lamp cables are generally 120 V AC. You will need (at a minimum) a 12 V power supply to drive an LED strip like this one. Also, if you are doing this on the roof, be aware that although this strip may be rated at IP65, it is still somewhat fragile -- it's a flimsy strip of silicone-coated plastic. Be careful about how you attach these to your roof, and ensure they are somewhat shielded. These are not Christmas lights.
