Absolutely fantastic splitting hatchet. The steel is good and work hardens as you use it. I sharpened my to a fantastic edge, and it's kept it pretty long term. The grip is comfortable, and the size is just right. You won't be dissapointed.

Nice balance & weight. Grips nice. The small sheath is convenient; vs full head sheath, this can fit in my back pocket with no issues. Performance; walnut log about 18”H x 8”W and split it with one swing without trouble. Same wood just 12” wide split half way and second swing finished. For something simple, it’s worth every penny. I’ve used a splitting axe and this hatchet performs the same. For camping, it’s perfect for making kindling.

Loose head after a few swings hopefully can update rating after replacement comes in

Great axe good balance. Sharp with additional sharping stone. Need a belt loop or attach holster. Great weight and design for splitting kindling.

Wood splitting is much easier with this hatchet. It arrived sharp enough to split about a half a cord of hardwood. The handle is comfortable and strong and I like blade cover

Looked good out of the box, but you can sharpen this with a file. If you don't know why that is significant, it means the cutting edge is not hardened! A non-hardened cutting edge will not last at all. I cannot fathom why anyone would sell a hatchet with a non-hardened cutting edge! Overpriced junk!
