The UGREEN NAS DXP 4800 Plus is my first NAS, and I’m impressed. The OS is intuitive and easy to use, making setup a breeze. The build quality is excellent, and the hardware is powerful, offering great performance. Compared to other brands at the same price point, this NAS provides significantly better specifications, making it a great value for the money.

As first time NAS user I found the hardware quick and easy to setup. Getting for backups of phone and computer working was also a breeze. The photo app works really well. Some good guides online to set up the media server of your choice - plex, jellyfin, emby etc. They are a bit more complex, but follow the guides and its not hard. I could not be happier with this NAS. The better than average hardware was what sold me. Their apps are getting better and better every month.

I've used many different storage servers and NAS appliances over the years, and this one takes the cake, especially for the price.It's so well designed, and it's incredibly accessible for people that want to tinker (it has a JTAG header)! The CPU beats my old 24 core Dell r610 rack server despite only 6 cores and using an order of magnitude less power. And it Does. The. Job. as a NAS. I can hit ~1GB/s real world speeds when using SMB to copy a file to the nvme disks.You can take out the stock 128gb boot disk and replace it with your own nvme also, giving you an extra slot (if you boot off a USB), but beware the internal slot is only PCIe 3.0 speeds compared to 4.0 for the 2 main ones. Google for "dxp4800_plus_lspci_fio_tests.txt" for nvme details and speedtest results.My current setup: 236TB installed, 128TB usable- TrueNAS scale- 2x 64GB samsung USB keys (as mirrored boot pool)- 3x 8TB Sabrent Rocket nvme drives in a stripe for 24TB of nvme storage @ 3500MB/s- 4x 20TB WD Red Pro hard drives in a mirrored striped array for 40TB usable @ 350MB/s- 1x 4TB External USB 4 SSD to use for L2ARC on the hard drive pool @ 550MB/s- 2x 32GB Silicon Power DDR5 RAM sticks for 64GB total RAM- 1x 10GBe link to my UDM router- 1x 2.5GBe fallback link to UDM router- JetKVM plugged into the HDMI and USB portsI'm thinking about cutting a hole in the case to make the 3rd nvme slot more accessible, but they used such thick aluminum that it's not worth it!

Good: Great design and hardware. Software is ok but getting better with each new update.Ugly: no support whatsoever. All engineers located in China and there is no direct line of communication. I was offered a support call over TeamViewer at 3AM!!!. If you need any help you are on your own.

I was skeptical about this NAS as to how it would compare to my older Synology unit. After unboxing and installing I’m thoroughly impressed with its simplicity but super powerful and speedy. I’m using 2 12TB NAS drives to keep my network and servers continuously backed up. So far, I’m thrilled with the purchase

Good build quality. Easy access to upgrade RAM. Love that it has a microSD card slot. The software is decent not great not terrible. It has a lot of security options like 2FA. Cheaper than comparable hardware from other brands.

The Nas worked for almost 2 weeks and it stopped syncing. Contacted customer support and received an email to send a pic of what was wrong with it, once sent customer support went silent. To bad I liked this unit. Going to buy a more reliable brand like synology.Update 2-17-1025Customer support got back to me and told me that there was an update to the sync app or to reset the system. Once updated it worked for half an hour and the rest of the day it went dead. I wanted to love this unit and thought I may have gotten just gotten a bad one. I even offered to send this one back and go with the 8 bay one as the additional power would be helpful. Customer rep didn't even etartain it. Bought a TERRAMASTER F6-424 Max yesterday and it's in the process of setting up. Hopefully this unit works with no issues.

Sofware? Work-in-progress but you can install your own OS if you want. Most go for TrueNAS (I did). This NAS is more for enthusiasts who want to tinker and is not geared towards those wanting an out-of-the-box solution. You should get a QNAP or Synology in that case.This NAS has more power for price compared to most other mainstream brands. Build quality is also exceptional. Don't listen to the reviews who claim the thermal pads destroyed their NVMe when opening the lid. You are not supposed to remove the blue taped side which goes against the cover and ensures no sticking. The clear side gets removed and attached to the NVMe and all works fine. I have had no issues with this.
