Small Flash, Big Performance on Sony A7RIII
Setup took seconds, menu is straightforward, and it synced with my Sony A7RIII with zero fuss. Compact but plenty powerful for on-camera or bounce flash, and the recycle time is fast enough to keep up during casual shooting. Great little tool to throw in the bag when you don’t want to haul a full-size speedlight.

This light works so good with my sonic camera, the lighting is such a good quality, so easy to put it on and take it off, the quality of the pictures are really good. Definitely recommend it if you’re camera doesn’t have flash.

Turned the ZV-1 into a better G7X
Updated Review: I’ve decided to go with the MEDALight F1s instead. It’s smaller but still packs a punch. You can’t adjust the intensity of the flash, but it performs better than the F1, even when using the same settings. *Note: Neither of these flashes is large enough to fully clear the ZV-1 lens, which causes a shadow to appear on the right side of the picture. Initial review: After extensive research, I decided to purchase the Sony ZV-1 Mark I, which I believe is the best pocketable vlogging camera of 2024. I also previously purchased the following accessories before the mini MEDALight: Ulanzi external still light, Ulanzi F12 Speedlite/trigger flash, and Neewer softbox/flash diffuser. Here’s a summary of my experience: Pros: • The size of this fill flash is extremely portable. The Ulanzi and Neewer accessories are excellent but I was looking for something more portable to fit in my purse on a regular day. • It’s rechargeable, which is convenient since I typically carry a portable charger. AA/AAA batteries are inconvenient. Cons: • The connection clip is plastic rather than metal. Although it appears durable, if the plastic chips in a critical spot, the flash will become unusable. This has led me to consider returning it before the 30-day return window closes. I am also hesitant to purchase insurance due to past issues with other products (unrelated to MEDALight). • Larger, less expensive trigger flashes are available, making this item seem overpriced. In my opinion, it’s worth no more than $19.99, compared to the previous price of $20. I’m currently searching for a more affordable alternative before the 30-day return window ends. I considered purchasing the Canon G7X Mark III, but after using this mini flash, I’ve decided against it. If I choose to keep this flash, I will post an updated review with day and night test shots, both with and without the flash.

Really good bright light!
It’s a pretty good light, I do really like it. I just always forget to carry it with me and having to put it on and off for me PERSONALY is just a hassle, like I’d rather get a camera with a built in flash but still it’s a really good product and nothing is wrong with it, very bright and it fits perfect on my Sony ZV1

Don’t waste your money.
Update: despite extensive testing this flash refuses to work well with my camera. No matter the settings, the images came out underexposed and washed out. I came to the conclusion that it is not compatible with my Lumix camera. I was disappointed my micro four thirds camera did not come with a small built in flash like my previous Sony so I was looking for something small and light that could travel well. I already have a really nice Metz flash, but with batteries it gets heavy and I wanted something lighter for travel. This one is tiny, light, and quite powerful. My only complaint is that it did not come with a diffuser, and having a loose plug for the USB port cover is a bad idea. I already lost it and had to purchase replacements with a loop on the end so I could pull it out easier and clip it to a leash. I made a diffuser out of special cloth for studio lights, but I would have much rather had a better plug that didn't get lost and a diffuser than a "waterproof box." I hope it holds up over time.

buy it even if your iffy from other reviews!!
amazing!!! literlly just plug and play, works amazing and super easy to use. if the flash is too bright adjust ur iso to ur cameras lowest/lower setting and play around with different manual/night modes. looks so good with my zv1 and i’m insanely impressed. the size is great it’s small and compact and for the money it’s such a great flash. i was iffy because of some reviews but still purchased it and i’m glad i did

Decent Concept but Limited Performance
The size and design are appealing, and it mounts easily without adding much bulk to the camera. It is convenient to carry and works for very basic fill light in close range situations. That said, the output is quite weak and inconsistent, making it unreliable for anything beyond casual snapshots. Recycling time is slow, battery life is short, and the light quality is harsh compared to other compact flashes. Build quality feels budget oriented and not confidence inspiring for regular use. It can work in a pinch if you prioritize size over performance, but there are better options available if you need dependable lighting.
