Flakey with HDMI + No love at all on DisplayPort
I bought it for 2 main reasons:– Connect an HDMI display with the HDMI connector– Connect another HDMI display with mini-DP (mini DisplayPort) connector, using a simple mini-DP-to-HDMI cable. The HMDI connector worked exactly once per port of my MacBook Pro 15". Once I disconnect, it never would come back to life on that port no matter how many times I reconnected or poked the Display preference pane to "Detect".The DisplayPort connector didn't work for me at all. Maybe that's because it's a "pure" DisplayPort connector and doesn't support doing HDMI (or DVI) signaling over the same pins, which most devices tend to support. In any event, this device was the only one that had both mini-DP and HDMI, which seemed a little too good to be true – and it was.If you need it for USB-A and/or USB 3, audio, or any of the other things it can do, it might be good for you but I wouldn't count on it for displays.I like look and feel of the little device but form doesn't matter when there's no function.

Unable to drive WQHD on Macbook Pro nor on Thinkpad X1 6th Gen
Unable to drive WQHD using Macbook Pro OR Thinkpad X1In both cases, it doesn't drive WQHD resolution via MiniDP. Thinkpad doesn't work at all above 1900x1200. Macbook tries to drive at WQHD but display flickers.Using for extended periods of time, unit gets extremely hot when used with 2018 Macbook Pro 2018 (when using only ethernet, usb and power delivery passthrough). Garbage.

Mini Display port doesn't work; other than that I like it
This hub has a major problem: The Mini Display Port does not work. I ordered two of these hubs, and neither one worked, so it's a design problem, not an isolated failure. I tested with both an Apple 27" Cinema Display and an Apple 27" Thunderbolt display; in both cases, audio worked but not video.I tested HDMI output and it worked fine, although refresh rate is 30Hz, not 60Hz - the mouse tracking is noticeably jerky. It's good enough for occasional use or with a projector, but not for a full-time display.Even with the Mini Display port failure, I still give this three stars because everything else about it is good - small and compact; lots of other useful ports. It is a good buy if you do not need the Mini Display port.

Doesn't work well with an Apple Cinema display.
I bought this to attach a new MacBook Pro to my older Apple Cinema Display via DisplayPort. While it does utilize the screen as an added screen, it only has 720p resolution, which is horrible on the otherwise higher performance Cinema Display. The advertising copy for this product seems to indicate that it will support high resolution displays up to 4K, but either this is an outright lie or there is something particularly weird about the Cinema Display resolution that makes it unusable by the product in a high resolution mode. If you're trying to attach a newer MacBook to an older display, don't waste your money.

Lasted less than a month and half - Purchased Aug 31 - Died Oct 10
It worked for 5 weeks on my new MacBook Pro and booted up one day and it no longer works. Tried it on several machines - no go.

Five Stars
Very helpful to have a wide variety of port types. Worth the money.

Over heating
Work fine, but I’m very concerned by the higth temperature on it, I hope don’t affect the components connected.
