Knocked off one star because it was a bit difficult to get it onto the spigot at my house due to the plastic nozzle, but once I got it on and tightened it it held on OK and didn't leak. Used it for refilling my pool and watering grass since I'm usually forgetting to check on the hose. Durability may be an issue but hopefully it lasts a long time.

Purchased this for some raised beds that have palm trees and a magnolia which need more water than most the rest of my yard. It only took a few minutes to set up and it was off to the races! The little unit can tell when it rains, so it puts the scheduled water on hold for two days so the trees don't get drowned. It is programmed when to turn on, for how long (# of minutes) and at what intervals (8-hours - several days). Never thought I needed irrigation; however, the immense growth the trees have shown over the past couple of months has me swearing by this little sprinkler timer and considering a much larger system for the whole yard.

Unit arrived defective. The valve did not seal completely allowing water to flow all the time, albeit restricted. Given the price, rather than return it I decided to just open it up and take a look. The valve sort of sprung apart when I opened it up and after reassembling sealed and worked correctly so I assume it was just assembled wrong.Unit worked as programmed for about a week, but then I noticed it was not going off when it should. Manual does not seem to work either. No click. My guess is that the power is too low to operate the valve. It was installed in a somewhat shady spot, which could mean that even with 3 batteries it still needs solar power to continue to operate reliably? For comparison, I have another brand hose timer without solar that has been operating on the same AA battery for months with no issues.Price was attractive and somewhat easy to figure out programming.

The timer fits on the hose bib and garden hose fits on the bottom, so you are able to easily program when the water is run, which days, what time and for how long. Very simple to program it. My only complaint is I wish it had brass fittings. With it being connected to a metal hose bib, even with silicone tape and tightening it, it still leaks a little. And since you need to have the spigot on all the time, it's a continual slow leak that I can't seem to fix no matter what I try. Brass fittings would fix this issue.

I am treating this with kid gloves as it does not feel very solid to me - the plastic literally feels brittle and, where the timer connects to a water source, the connector is tight and hard to turn, which is a bad combination for brittle plastic. It hasn't broken yet but...
