Ideal starter mic
Purchased for a teen who has said it's great, in that there's no issue with the sound & the lights make it "cool" No issues at all with it, easy plug & play install with plenty of the required rotation. Would recommend.

Best Microphone I have had!
Amazing quality, better than my £100 microphone, however the boom arm is a little weird, I wish it would go lower to the desk, however the microphone itself is perfect, surprisingly does a great job to cut out background noise too.

Great mic quality, but the arm stand could be better
The mic itself sounds really clear — definitely a big upgrade over headset mics. It picks up voice really well for streaming, calls, and recordings. The build feels solid and the RGB adds a nice touch. The only downside is the arm stand — it feels a bit loose and doesn’t stay in place as well as I’d like. It works for now, but I might upgrade the arm in the future. Overall, really happy with the mic quality for the price!

Good value.
The TD520s is a dynamic microphone aimed at streamers/gamers. This “+” variant comes with a boom arm that clamps to your desk. The mic is quite hefty with a metal shell, but it feels secure in the arm, even if the arm feels a bit light when you’re setting it up. The clamp is solid and has rubber facings to minimise marking on the desk. This microphone can be connected directly by USB or via an audio interface or mixer using an XLR cable. Both cables are provided and there is the option to use USB A or C at the computer end (the microphone takes C). When connected via USB, the RGB light ring on the bottom becomes active. The colours/cycles can be chosen with a button on the mic. There is also the option to change the microphone gain or the headphone output gain (it’s possible to direct monitor using the headset output socket). When connected via XLR, the buttons on the mic are inoperative & you lose the lighting ring. Being a dynamic mic, no phantom power is required for audio when connected via XLR. While condenser mics may offer a little more detail, this dynamic mic has fairly good side and rear noise rejection - I can’t find the polar pattern, but I’m assuming it’s cardioid. I found the sound quite pleasing for speech - it has quite a bit of body in the low mids, but still has some clarity. It wouldn’t be my first choice for instruments, but that’s not what it’s designed for. All in all, this is a great value mic and boom. It could be an ideal starting point for someone venturing into streaming/podcasts using the USB connection, then switching to XLR when they pick up an audio interface.

High quality close range USB + XLR mic. Boom arm is excellent
I was very happy to try out this Tonor mic for a couple of reasons. I do record a few videos/presentations (yes, even with my Black Country drawl!) and this sort of set up is excellent. I have had decent quality desk stand microphones in the past which I find to be a bit of a pain to use. Thing is - it seems the higher the quality of the microphone - the closer you need to be to it. So with a desk stand you always seem to be craning your neck. Secondly - Teams calls. While my webcam audio is hardly bad - it's quite noticeably 'echo-y'. I would feel a bit of a prat using a desk mic on a call - with this I can just place it to the side (fairly close though) and get on with it. And yes - I take every opportunity on a call to sign off with "don't forget to like and subscribe!". I'm using this myself with the USB connection. You get a decent sized cable with it but once you have routed it along the boom arm (which comes with handy velco ties) - you may find as I did you need a USB extension cable to reach your computer. Another thing to note here - initially I tried plugging this into an unpowered hub (i.e. it was just drawing the power from the host PC). This hub had lightweight devices plugged into it (keyboard + wireless mouse dongle) but it couldn't supply enough power for the mic. A powered hub - or as I mentioned - a longer USB extension to your PC will get the job done. I'm an absolute novice when it comes to XLR - but I did try the mic with my son's mixer/looper box (with which he actually already uses a different Tonor mic!) and all was good there. I didn't need an external 'phantom power' source to get it working. Recording quality is excellent - I've attached an example to the review. While there's no pop filter, there is a foam windscreen with the mic. On my example, I did get a little bit of peaking (I've left it in the video as not to cheat) - but it does go to show the value of pop filters or as in my second example - talking across the mic. The light on the mic itself can be set to various colours or a colour cycle. Thankfully it includes my favourite colour - "Off". This is a great all round package and has the quality you expect from Tonor. It's priced at £74.99 (but at the time of writing is 20% off - get it!).
