Q: how many would I need for a 1200 square foot room?

I would go with 3 glowave kits for a room this size.

Q: Do all 4 strips that come in each kit need just 1 outlet or does each strip need it's own outlet?

Our Blacklight kit comes with 2 power adapters. The power adapters have splitter cables that are each designed to run 2 black light strips. So for each kit you need 2 power outlets (or you can use a double adapter or power board). Our black light kit comes with extra long cables so you can space the blacklights up to 14ft (4.2m) apart. You do not need 4 power outlets.

Q: How many kits for a 20x30 tent

We used to do parties in a tent this size and they were so much fun! We used 1 and a half kits. You could get away with only one kit though. You might want to buy the extra if the tent is going to be packed full of people.

Q: If I wanted to cover a large gym (size of about two basketball courts) how many kits would I need?

We use 4 kits to produce enough black light for a glow party on a tennis court so I would recommend 6 to 8 kits for a room that size.
