For The Price It Could Be Better - MUCH better
I ordered this device with the hopes that it would be all Assistive Technology Services claimed it would be in their Amazon description page. Unfortunately there have been a couple of problems.Number one is the claim that this unit will go days between charges when fully charged. So far my experience as it goes approximately 7 to 10 hours and shuts itself off waiting for a recharge. This is not very helpful if you're away from a place to charge this unit for an extended period of time.Number two is for the price of this unit it is very poorly made. One of the key caps on the face of the unit has fallen off and I have been unable to locate where it fell off to try to put it back on again. One would think they would build something that stays together. The other issue here is related again to the battery and the length of time this unit stays charged. The instruction booklet enclosed in the box was complete enough to a certain point. The troubleshooting section could be expanded to cover more issues such as the short running time I have experienced. The booklet does explain how to insert the battery, how to charge it initially, and the basic operating features of the unit. It also gives a helpful tip on testing the unit with a call to a 911 operator.Regarding the troubleshooting section of the booklet, it seems there may be a couple of mistakes or perhaps my unit is defective in some way. The instructions claim the blue light (the cell signal indicator light) should blink slowly while mine blinks rapidly. The green light which is the GPS signal indicator blinks regularly but slowly. There is nothing in the instructions or troubleshooting section to give a clue whether or not this is the correct behavior of the GPS signal indicator light. They claim in the instructions that if you stay stationary the unit goes into a power saving mode and reads the location every 10 minutes. They don't say how you know for sure the unit is in that power save mode. My unit has been stationary now for approximately 30 minutes and there's been no change in the indicator lights, so I'm not sure if I'm saving power are not!In addition to the instruction booklet the box contained a lanyard, the charger and USB cable, and the battery which required an easy installation. The box itself was a very good quality for shipping and arrived intact with no damage.I really like the idea of having an emergency call device which does not require a monthly fee and will work almost anywhere I choose to be. That is the major reason why I made this purchase - I had a previous emergency call device but the monthly fees were somewhat outrageous. But I was hoping for better than this, a more complete instruction booklet, a better built unit. I will continue to carry the device wherever I go and bring along a USB charging cable in case I lose battery power and there's a place I can plug it in. While this kind of defeats the purpose of a lightweight unit you wear on a lanyard, it's a safe bet for me as the battery life does not live up to their promises.EDIT UPDATE: here is the final verdict on this 911 emergency call device. I had to shut it off and leave it off as it was mysteriously dialing all on its own the 911 operators. So I have changed the three star rating down to two star rating and have already purchased and received a much more reliable emergency call device. My advice to anybody looking for one of these 911 emergency call device would be to avoid this one like the plague! There are a number of 911 only emergency call device on the market out there so shop and compare and spend your hard earned dollars wisely.

GPS feature is important, but I've never tested it.
I bought the earlier model and accidently it dialed the police while in my pocket. So I'm afraid to keep it in my purse. I hang it next to my bed now and charge it about biweekly. I wish it had a protective method to avoid accidental activation. I love the GPS feature.
