The engine cooling fan on my Volvo XC70 wouldn't stop running even after I turned the car off. This is a fairly common problem with these cars. I believe the same part is also used on a good number of Ford cars. The Volvo dealer wanted $1100 to replace the entire electric engine cooling fan unit ($500 for the part and $600 of labor). OUCH :( Instead I spent $34 on this Amazon part and it took me about 20 minutes to replace the broken module. It works great and has me running down the road just like I should be. It's a fairly easy repair. I recommend watching a Youtube video. Really there's only one screw that holds the thing in place but you'll probably want to have an offset screwdriver or a short ratcheting screwdriver as there's limited access to the screw in a standard screwdriver isn't going to fit. Other than the single screw there's one electrical plug on the top and two electrical plugs on the bottom. Definitely worth trying before you pay tons of money for the dealer to fix it.

Immediately threw a check engine light for "Engine Cooling Fan Module Malfunction." Was not there with the previous old OEM module - this is defective. Returned

Exactly what I needed. 2011 XC60 3.2L. I had the issue where the passenger side fan motor stayed on when car was turned off and battery would drain. Found a video on YouTube with how to replace but it was pretty simple. One harness to unclip on top that you can reach from above the car. There are two fan connectors that you can reach from under car to unplug. After that it is one Phillips head screw that you can get from top of car as well. Really a tight space so recommend getting right angle ratcheting screwdriver from harbor freight for about $3 to make it easy. Total time out and in for me was about 45 min and car is back up and running. Fan turns off when car turns off. All is good and Im well under $50.

For less than $40, we were able to fix something that would have cost at least $300 at the dealership. Simple, but not easy, as accessing the screw and wire connectors was more than tight. Still more than worth it. If the part lasts, this is a bargain. (And I'll report back if it doesn't!)
