It actually works surprisingly well!
The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical of ordering because I hadn’t heard of ‘arre’ and there were little or no reviews at the time, but I decided to take the plunge because this is one of the first truly ‘Works with Matter’ buttons or switches on the market that does not have to be hardwired. The build quality feels really good, nice clicky button, and it attaches to a magnetic plate that you can mount to your place of choosing. This means it can also directly attach to magnetic materials without needing the backplate. Comes with a mounting sticker for the backplate or screws for a stronger hold.Setup was incredibly simple over matter in the Apple Home app, and you are given 3 functions for the button: single press, double press, long press. These are easily mappable directly to other Home accessories or you can ‘convert to shortcut’ at the bottom of the editing menu to write a shortcut. I made an ‘if’ statement for my smart lock so if it is locked it will unlock, and unlock if locked so I can mount a button on the inside of my door frame. There’s no direct assignment of the shortcut if you already have one set up in the shortcuts app (as of iOS 18.1), but I think you could execute another shortcut from the shortcut you write in the home app. Note, this is a limitation of Apple Home at this time, not the button. The button also has a red LED that blinks when pressed, and other Matter accessories (Aqara U200 smart lock, also great!) have been responding in about 2 seconds from the press. It comes with a pack of stickers with different icons you can put on the button to indicate what it controls. They come in black and white, but there’s no way you could see the white on the button (unless maybe they glow in the dark?).Can’t say about battery life but will update this if it becomes an issue. It is replaceable by popping the back cover off and putting in a fresh CR2032.Overall very satisfied and will be ordering a few more for around the apartment. I was pleasantly surprised that arra blew my expectations out of the water for a Matter enabled button.

Sleek quality + Matter at a good price
This is my second arre product, and I’m impressed again. The button and wall mount are both sleek, and the matter integration is of course great. This would work with any smart home, but for fellow HomeKit users out there, it was a breeze to set the button interactions up with a custom shortcut to do some really cool things—it even shows the battery life as an added bonus. Highly recommend for “smart remote” projects (I’ll be using this for a custom fireplace project 🔥)

Thread based Matter protocol 3 function button - works w/ Apple thread controller
As others have stated, well built, sturdy, thread wireless media Matter button that supports single, double, and long click actions. Most other solutions to get a button into Apple's Home require a zigbee or Bluetooth bridge device, this just works albeit at a higher cost per device. Most appropriate if you have an isolated place that you need a button. The Eve home button is not currently available and the Onvis button is not yet Matter based, but a good thread / HomeKit option."arre" shows three products on their website and time will tell if firmware updates keep this product usable with the target Apple & Smart Things Matter controllers. The arrehome.com site is woefully out of date stating Alexa and Google Home do not support Matter devices...With my current Apple Home & 4K Apple TV Matter controllers... this button works great and starts to get me off of WiFi IOT devices.

Arre Smart Button is awesome!
The Arre Smart Button is perfect for Apple HomeKit! Setup was quick and easy, and it works flawlessly with all my HomeKit devices. I love how I can assign different actions to single, double, or long presses—like turning on lights in my basement! It’s small, sleek, and fits seamlessly into my home. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, this smart button is a must-have!

Solid, Helpful Product - Battery Life Questionable.
We have had this Arre Smart Button going on for four months now. Setup with HomeKit was quick and easy, and it has been working with Apple Home without issue this whole time.It has flexible mounting options; ours is stickered to the underside of a shelf so we can tap it on the way out the door. The magnetic base makes it easy to pop off for a battery change.Having three button states to work with has been great! We use it in conjunction with Homebridge to open/unlock our various garage doors as we leave the house. By the time we get to the garage, everything is in motion.Considering that we might tap it a couple of times a day, the battery lasting 3.5 months is hard for me to say whether that is good or bad. I just swapped it out with a new lithium CR2023 and reset the clock to see how long this one lasts. Too bad it's not rechargeable.

Great idea - doesn't work
Refused to work or connect with Alexa or ANYTHING - tried it with 2 different accessories. Returned.

Simple and useful little button!
I love that the button is small and simple. The magnetic, weighted, and stick-on mounting options are a really nice touch. Although it has the simplicity of only a single button to press, it can take different actions for a double tap or a long press. It's perfect for local control of a lamp on a smart plug or anywhere local control of a scene is handy. For example, I have one on the bed headboard to activate our goodnight scene. A long press of the same button activates an "I heard a noise" scene that turns on several lights around the house.Given that the button runs on Matter over Thread (MoT), it's really fast acting. I'd guess it responds 3x faster than the wi-fi based button solution I was previously using. Of course, it all depends on what devices are in your house. Controlling other MoT devices has the fastest response time.

item looks used
The box does not have any seal, came with a used up battery and the product itself has a stain. Everything seems to imply the product is used. It works as expected after replacing with a new battery. Function wise it's great. But I'm disappointed with the condition.
