We have been looking for something that is able to scan documents without damaging them, especially wills that are carefully bound. This just does the job. The software is very intuitive and this will get a lot of use, I am sure!

This is a portable scanner that can also be used as a webcam. Setting up was relatively easy although the accompanying CD didn't seem to work. I ended up downloading the software directly from the CZUR site. Scanning quality is OK, it's not going to compete with a dedicated scanner or printer/scanner but being portable I didn't expect it to. It's certainly good enough for quick scans of a loose page. I found trying to scan the page of a book a bit of a faff and it's really not suited to that. I found the OCR works quite well. I'm not entirely convinced that it provides a better solution than using a scanner app on my phone. The only advantage is that there's less risk of movement when scanning. The price point also feels a little high considering that it's an 8MP camera and your typical phone camera is 12MP.

Cumple con lo que promete, aunque con matices. Es adecuado para escanear libros y efectivamente su tecnología "aplana" las páginas, pero en ocasiones distorsiona la imagen haciéndola "ondulada". Viene con unos aditamentos especiales para ayudar en el aplanado de las páginas, que el software se encarga de borrar de la imagen. No siempre los borra y sólo lo hace en el modo de "dividir" las páginas. Si vas a escanear sólo una parte, y utilizas estos dispositivos para aplanar la superficie de la hoja en otro de los modos de escaneo, no los borra. Por otra parte, no es adecuado para el escaneo de papel satinado (fotografías, revistas, etc.), las luces del escaner "queman" la imagen. Aunque dichas luces se pueden apagar y, con un poco de ingenio se consiguen resultados decentes para algunas cosas, aunque ya digo que no parece estar diseñado para este tipo de documentos. Incluso he conseguido llevarlo al límite de la superficie de escaneo (A3 máximo), elevándolo unos 5cm. Requiere algo de práctica y paciencia, pero ayuda con documentos que de otra forma no podría escanear. Por cierto, como sugerencia, el pedal de control del escaneo podría ser inalámbrico. En general, buena compra.

Ho acquistato questo scanner per digitalizzare libri, e devo dire che svolge il suo lavoro in maniera eccellente. Dopo aver acquisito un minimo di pratica (NB: perché il raddrizzamento delle pagine funzioni bene, è importante che intorno al libro si veda bene il "nero" della base in dotazione su cui è appoggiato, e non ci siano fogli o altro che sporgano da sotto alterando il profilo dell'area di scansione, che viene acquisita automaticamente), e utilizzando il pedale in dotazione, riesce a scansionare un libro di 800 pagine (formato tra A4 e A3 per le due pagine aperte; modalità di acquisizione B/N, con raddrizzamento automatico), applicare l'OCR e convertire i JPEG in un unico PDF in poco più di un'ora. Tutto molto pratico e semplice, e anche il software in dotazione non è difficile da usare, perlomeno per le operazioni basiche. Riesce a gestire bene anche le dita, se entrano nell'inquadratura per tenere le pagine aperte, anche senza usare i ditali in dotazione. Il prodotto merita quindi i pieni voti. Unico suggerimento per eventuali nuove versioni: gli attacchi dei cavi (alimentazione USB e pedale), collocati all'interno della base dello scanner, non sono praticissimi da raggiungere. Nulla di problematico, ma forse una collocazione più esterna non sarebbe male. Ma si tratta di una minuzia, lo scanner è davvero ottimo.

Dieser Scanner hat mich tatsächlich positiv überrascht. Den habe ich gekauft, in der Hoffnung, dass er mir die Digitalisierung alter Protokollbücher, vier an der Zahl, vereinfacht. Das erste Buch stammt aus den zwanziger Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts, ist unliniert und zum Teil noch in Sütterlin geschrieben. Das übersetzt der Scanner zwar nicht, bildet aber ein gestochen scharfes Bild ab. Der Scanvorgang selbst ist selbsterklärend und geht sehr flott von der Hand. Man legt das Buch auf mitgelieferte schwarze Matte, richtet es mittig aus, eine Seite links und eine rechts. Ggf. kann man mit den mitgelieferten Fingerlingen die Seiten etwas glätten, drückt den mitgelieferten Fußschalter und schon sind 2 Seiten erfasst. Umblättern und nochmal Fußschalter betätigen und so fort. Für das erste Protokollbuch mit rund 400 Seiten habe ich etwa 2 Stunden gebraucht. Natürlich ist anschließend noch etwas Feinarbeit in einem Bildbearbeitungsprogramm notwendig. Die wäre allerdings mit meinem Flachbettscanner auch angefallen, mal ganz abgesehen vom total umständlichen und langwierigen Handling beim Scannen. Vermutlich wäre ich da mit dem Scannen tagelang beschäftigt gewesen. Den Scanner würde ich sofort wieder kaufen.
