This cable works perfectly
I had bought a large capacity SSD drive which I configured as an external drive, everything was fine until I put it inside the Macbook. It would power up then crash. I discovered that the SATA cables in the 2012 models, as shipped, were known to be an issue. They worked fine on old, slow, data transfer drives but not on the newer SSD drives.I fitted this replacement SATA cable using the tools supplied and within 7 minutes the Macbook was up and running, working beautifully and super fast. I thoroughly recommend both this cable and this seller for a superb product.

Good product
I ordered this as the hard drive in MacBook Pro (mid 2013) stopped working. After buying an SSD to replace it, it still didn’t work, so after some searching online, I decided to try to replace the SATA cable. I am a novice when it comes to computer hardware, but this kit made it very easy to replace the cable, and it took me less than 10 minutes to do it. So far, a month on, it is all working perfectly, and I would recommend that anyone experiencing similar issues to buy this (inexpensive) product to try first before splashing out on the new hard drive.

It's working!
My SSD had stopped working. Before purchasing a new one, I thought I would try replacing the cable in order to eliminate that as the possible problem. The old part was quite easy to remove and the new part as easy to install. The SSD is working again, so I was happy that it was the old cable that was faulty as the replacement was much cheaper than a new SSD! The only thing that wasn't quite right with the new cable was that a section of it seemed to be slightly too long and did not sit flush but it doesn't seem to causing any issues so far.

Life saver!
I thought my macbook was for the bin when I seen the dreaded flashing question mark file on start up. Looked online and was reccomended to buy this. My macbook now lives on to see another day!Cable fits perfectly and the tools supplied are ideal

Works great and easy to install
My laptop suddenly wouldn't boot up (however managed to run a live linux distro off of a usb drive which showed the hard drive nowhere to be seen). Having tested the hard drive in an external enclosure which was working, I came to the conclusion the SATA cable in my macbook pro 8,1 finally gave up the ghost. Having watched an instructional video on youtube, i installed this cable in under 5 minutes and back to using my Mac. As the bracket with the IR sensor is included with this cable, there is no faffing about with fiddly ribbon cables. The screwdrivers that are included are also of good quality

saved a macbook pro!
saved a macbook pro i had my hands on, the hard drive wasn't recognized (even in the disk utils in recovery mode - the hardware test saying everything was fine on the computer) because this part certainly broke after the computer fell. the hard drive was still working when put in an external enclosure. once this part replaced (search for the ifixit tutorial on google on how to change this part) everything went fine. replaced the hard drive by a ssd at the same time and installed the (natively unsupported) macOS catalina, the mac just got a second life! :-)just a little precision, the original cable is folded to fit between the superdrive and hard drive shapes, with two tiny screws in this area. personally i didn't take te risk to fold it, i just put the screws in their holes so they are here if i needed one day and then let the cable pass from the top part of the superdrive to the bottom of the hdd/sdd, i feel like it's less risky for it to get damaged again...if needed: macbook pro 8,1 (late 2011) 13" model A1278.the tools provided are of good enough quality even though i used another set of screwdrivers. i preferred this kit as the one without the LED/IR receptor part so i was sure not to break anything if i had to combine the stock/new part here but i guess that if you are more experienced you can go for the kit with no tools and that IR/LED part...

That’s how cheap this was
I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro which had a problem recognising the hard drive so I took it to the Apple Store to see if they could sort the problem which they could they told me what it was causing this and said that they could repair it but wanted to charge me £99 for the repair I refuse to have it done after telling me it was the ribbon cable to the hard drive I decided to buy one online at a reasonable price even though I know it’s not an original Apple product it was easy to do the only complaint I have was that the cable was a little too long to normal but it works

Working perfectly
My brother's 13-inch mid-2012 MacBook Pro was exhibiting extremely long boot times, slow & failing file copying, and long periods of beach-balling. I was fortunate to have the same laptop myself to troubleshoot with. After swapping RAM, the hard drive, and the hard drive ribbon cable, I concluded that the cable was the problem. I later learned this is a fairly common issue with these MacBook Pros.I left my working ribbon cable in my brother's laptop so he could take it home. I then purchased this cable to replace the failing one. Although I didn't use them (I have my own took kit), this kit provides screw drivers and spudgers to access and replace the ribbon cable. I appreciate the reinforcement eyelets around the part where the ribbon cable bends and gets screwed to the motherboard. This bit of additional structure gives me better sense of protection around where the screws might have the potential to damage the cable. Replacing the cable only took only about ten minutes and is quite easy. My computer is back to being fully functional. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of these cables.

Llegó dañado por manipulación errónea.
El repuesto se veía de buena calidad, no se pudo probar por venir dañado en el empaque.

Fixed missing hard drive issue!
Perfect fit. Appears a little more robust than the original. Installing took some careful folding of the ribbon cable, but otherwise very straightforward and immediately fixed my issue. If your hard drive suddenly disappears from your macbook this is a very good option to try. My old cable visually appeared fine but clearly was not. Highly recommend!

Amazing replacement cable
Alright, so I had to replace the sensor cable in my MacBook Pro, and I stumbled upon this one. Wasn’t sure how it’d turn out, but let me tell ya, it was surprisingly easy to pop in! They even threw in some tools, which was a nice touch. Seriously saved me a trip to the hardware store. The cable? Fit like a dream. And if I didn’t know better, I’d swear it was the original part straight from Apple. Looks and feels legit. If you’ve got a MacBook Pro A1278 and need a new cable, this one’s got my vote.

Not identical but works perfectly
Item isn’t identical to the original connector but it fits fine and attaches easily. Functionality is great as well, I don’t notice any negative changes in my computers operation after replacing with this wire. Doesn’t look OEM but decent purchase overall.
