Sweet milk every time! Nutritious!
There's nothing better than young coconut. The young coconut milk/water is sweet. The best! Never buy the old brown coconut from the grocery store. The milk/water in old brown coconut is sour. Only buy young coconut. Young coconut meat is like butter, also. You become addicted to young coconut.Nutritionally, young coconut milk/water does contain nutrients, including the B vitamins Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, as well as trace amounts of thiamin (B1), Vitamin C, potassium, and sodium.Coconut milk/water has more than 10 times the amount of potassium of most sports drinks. Drinking one young coconut has as much potassium as a banana. Most Americans fall short of the daily recommendation for potassium; at 405 mg per young coconut, the potassium in it's milk/water can help you ward off cramps.Potassium helps keep fluid and electrolyte balance in the body, especially during exercise. Because there is more potassium than sodium in coconut milk/water, the potassium may help balance out sodium’s effect on blood pressure and possibly even help lower it.

Best Young Coconut Ever, but also most expensive
I also had to pay for shipping (and I rushed it, to get them as fresh as possible). This meant I literally paid over $50 for three coconuts, a ridiculous price indeed! They were also the freshest, tastiest young coconuts I've ever encounted before or since. You will not find a coconut this fresh in any market unless you happen to live near the tropics. However, if you don't mind a little processing and don't have fifty bucks to throw away, you can find coconut water (with slices of coconut) in most Asian markets. Look for the good stuff, it's a clear plastic cup, similar to a yoghurt cup, with a thin cover of plastic film sealed on the top. Don't buy the crap in cans or anything that looks like it should go in a child's lunchbox! Sometimes they will dehydrate a little of the water so it can be a bit sweeter than fresh. It will still taste closer to fresh than the young coconuts you can buy in the same market.

Not young, not fresh
These were all bad. The milk was brown and there was very little coconut inside, and that was brown. No good.

Unfortunately spoiled from the heat upon arrival
I didn’t mind paying an exorbitant price as sweet Thai coconuts are so delicious and nutritious. I bought 6 and had to throw them all away. These coconuts may have been fresh when they were shipped but when they arrived they were not. I buy several fresh Thai coconuts and am very familiar with how they should look and taste when fresh. These were past that point. They also took a long time to arrive. Perhaps it would be best if they were shipped with some sort of cooling device to keep them cool and fresh as I’ve seen with other products.

Gooey, gross & stupid expensive
These things are not worth the 35$ I spent on them. I could have bought them at my local Vons for 4$ each. I also learned that I don't like my coconut meat young or immature or whatever they call these. The meat is gooey and gross. Won't make this mistake again.
