Good tool used on outboard engine
Been working on restoring an old mariner 60hp. Bought this affordable tool that has worked a dream getting my timing right. Engine running well now. Would def recommend.

easy to use
The media could not be loaded. This engine timing gun is designed to identify the correct timing for the engine cylinders. It is suitable for all types of engines which use spark plugs and coil.Using the device is very easy and straight forward, just need to make sure that the crocodile connectors are connected to the car battery using the correct polarity - black one to the negative and red one to the positive. The testing clamp goes around the coil wire. Once the engine started the ignition light gun be used to take the timing readings while pressing the trigger.The light is very bright - I was able to see it even during the sunny day light.This is a very useful device to make sure that you have the correct timing in your vehicle engine.

Poor quality
Didn't work properly. Only worked intermittently, was very erratic. Also it was impossible to check for ignition advance because the moment you increase the engine speed it would stop working completely.I know it is only a cheap entry level tool, but you would expect it to even work for 6 months or maybe a year. But to not work straight out the box is terrible! There seems to be a lot of similar looking ones with different brand names on and I suspect they are all from the same factory. So I returned it for a full refund (good old Amazon)
