Ultra Evolution Center Channel Speaker - Each (Piano Gloss Black)

Item arrived in perfect condition (which was a mild concern after international shipping) This speaker is a powerful workhorse. Adding plenty of punch while maintaining clarity. Could be a little pricy for those starting out in hifi but i found it was well worth the cost and a big improvement over our previous Onkyo speaker. The piano gloss finish is also stunning, which may help convince hesitant partners or spouses.

Very clean clarity, detailed and dynamic sound. Blends well with Yamaha soavo line.

I upgraded from the SVS Ultra Center Speaker to the SVS Ultra Evolution Center Speaker and wow.. I can't believe how good this new center channel is. I also upgraded my prime elevations to SVS Ultra Evolution Elevation and they are awesome as well.!!

Upgraded from the Ultra center, which I had for two years. The Evo center is audibly better than the ultra center, without question. I have the Evo set up in my home theater running in a 7.4.4 configuration. When I originally purchased, I figured I wouldn't be able to hear much of a difference between the two speakers - but I was wrong. I'm not saying it's a massive difference or that the Ultra was a bad speaker or anything, but the Evo is simply better. One thing I noticed was a greater degree of authority and fullness from the Evo - voices seem to be slightly more nuanced and fleshed out, with perhaps a slightly warmer tone to them. It should also be noted the Evo is rated at 6 ohms, whereas the Ultra is rated at 8 ohms, meaning the Evo is easier for my XPA Gen 3 amp to drive. At 8 ohms, my amp was providing 275 watts RMS to the Ultra, at 6 ohms my amp is now providing 450ish watts RMS to the Evo. As a result, it sounds like my Evo has more headroom, and perhaps unsurprisingly, a bit more depth and command.

Really solid true 3-way center. I bought a number of centers and tried them all out with a mix of movies, shows, and video games. This was 2nd or 3rd place depending on the content. Would have kept it honestly but the Emotiva XC2 actually took the gold in my comparison and was cheaper. Would never hesitate to buy SVS products, packaging, fit & finish were all great. Sounded superior to most other centers in this price range great as well just slightly lacked the details that I got from the Emotiva.
