It costs more but was worth it. I haven't had them installed yet. but they arrived well packed, and were in perfect shape. Just like the ones pictured. I painted mine white, but added a different finial to the top and plan to stain that the same walnut stain I plan to stain my steps. Note: that I am using a different finial in my photos. It did come with the square cap finial as shown in the product description. If mine doesn't look good when stained at the top, I might change to using the ones that came with it. Also some of my photos don't show the wood sleeve at the bottom. It is in one photo. It did come with it. I just plan to put that on when they install it. All came natural wood not painted, but I painted mine except the finial that I purchased separately that I glued with liquid nails on top that I plan to stain walnut color. But overall very pleased with the quality. They had an already painted version. But I bought the red oak version because thought they were heavier wood and same wood as my floors. Although I had planned to paint them. I should have taken pictures of them before I painted them.

Its exactly what i was looking for. Not excessively thick, perfect for my stairs. Looks good and well made.

Great product. Adjustable sleeve was very helpful to match my existing jewels. Didn’t love the finial top but was able to cut it down to match existing as well seen in my attached pic. I got the cedar and stained it. After some trial and error on section I cut off of base I learned gel stain worked far better than regular stain. I used varathane gel stain (mahogany)

Bought 3 of these posts for installation in my home, when I received the boxes were in good condition, and the way they were packaged was great.Workmanship was top notch!, I would definitely pass the quality as second to none!The quality of these joints and finish was excellent!Ease of installation was great since the quality was so good.I recommend anyone that’s questioning the quality and workmanship, to jump at buying these and installing

We bought 4 of these. Great quality and durable.Installation was a bit difficult, but I’m not sure if it was the product or the installer-lolI would definitely recommend!

A great upgrade from previous bland, smaller ones. Took stain easily. Everyone likes their "wow" factor. Love these

This was just what we needed to finish the railing. You could adjust it to the desired height.

I used the L brackets, had to notch out the sleeves a little so it may slide down over. Didn’t take long and they look great!
